How I Overcame Infertility: Part Two - The Struggle Continues
If you haven’t read part one of my fertility journey, please click here to start from the beginning: "How I Overcame Infertility: Part One - The Journey Begins."

Rolling into the new year, I was convinced 2013 would prove to be a much better year than 2012. When you feel like you are at the very bottom, the only way to go is up, right?!

Since we were finished with my dad’s cancer treatment, I felt like I could intentionally focus more on trying to get pregnant. In the beginning, we just kept trying, praying and telling ourselves, when the time was right, it would happen.

Some time that year, I started charting my cycles - when I was ovulating, when I had my period and when we were active! I swear I kept E.P.T. in business. I seriously should have invested in stock as much as I was buying pregnancy tests + ovulation kits! You feel me???

At the time, I was working in sales for a nutraceutical company, and I covered a 4-state territory. I basically sold natural + nutritional supplements to veterinary clinics and animal hospitals. I helped educate Vets and their staff on taking a holistic approach to their patient's wellness protocols. It was such a fun + rewarding job. I really loved what I did, and it catapulted me on my own wellness journey.

Needless to say, it was quite the challenge trying to plan sexy time around when I was ovulating + a full traveling work schedule. Sometimes it took the fun out of baby making and made it feel more like a chore. Wha-wha.

Time just flew by. Before we knew it, it was December 2013 and still NO BABY!

THE MIND MESS

Why was this happening? What was wrong with me? I had friends that just looked at their spouse and it seemed like they would pop out a baby!

I was eating a healthy diet, I didn’t smoke, use drugs, or take any medications. I took supplements to help support my body, I wasn’t overweight, and I didn’t (knowingly) struggle with any condition associated with fertility issues like endometriosis or PCOS. So, WTH?

THE TIPPING POINT

Then in December 2013, I was at our National Sales Meeting in Vermont. As a team, we all went out and ate dinner at an Italian restaurant and of course I loaded up on all the delicious breadsticks, salad and mouth-watering lasagna (my fave Italian dish).

Later that night back at the hotel, we were all supposed to meet downstairs for some wine tasting + team building but I was feeling so bloated, nauseous and had severe abdominal cramps. Somewhere in the cloud or on an old phone, there is a picture I took in the bathroom of that hotel room where I seriously looked 5 months pregnant.

Finally, after “going” to the bathroom (wink wink), I made my way downstairs to the lobby to mingle with my teammates. The next day, I was having a conversation with our corporate trainer. She suggested I look into some digestive disorders, like IBS or leaky gut, maybe a food allergy or sensitivity, etc.…

I spent that night going down a rabbit hole of research on Dr. Google. I found myself locked in on Celiac Disease and I was convinced I had it. As soon as I got home from that trip, I immediately made an appointment with my primary physician. Little did I know it would be the last time I would ever go back to see him again.

About Brandi

I’m Brandi... a designer, wellness advocate, and conscious caregiver.

But more than anything, I’m someone who understands what it feels like to hold a lot… to care deeply for others… and to realize somewhere along the way, you need support too. My work is rooted in real-life experiences that have shaped both how I live and how I serve.

Conscious Caregiving
After walking through my dad’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I experienced firsthand the emotional, physical, and mental weight that caregiving can carry. But I also experienced something else, what it looks like to approach care with intention, support the body in natural ways, and create space for presence in the middle of uncertainty.

Through that journey, my dad was able to beat his initial diagnosis in 2014, and we were given 12 more years with him before he passed in February 2026. That time shaped me in ways I’m still uncovering—and it’s what led me to create a space for caregivers who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure where to begin.

I now share simple tools, gentle guidance, and real-life perspective to help you move from panic to peace—without losing yourself in the process.

Holistic Health & Natural Living
During that same season, I was also navigating my own health challenges—walking through two and a half years of infertility.

After making intentional shifts—supporting my gut, balancing hormones, reducing toxins in our home, and working with a naturopath... I was able to conceive naturally, without medical intervention (praise God).

That experience changed everything for me.

It deepened my belief in supporting the body, simplified the way I approach wellness, and is why I love sharing natural living in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming.
