Essential Oils - Simplified. We don't just teach oils, we teach you how to use them
This week we are talking about a simple recipe you'll need to hand ALL SUMMER
You will become THE GO-TO PERSON for everyone who has an itchy bite, cut, scrape, burn or graze on their skin. Just keep this in your bag wherever you go.

Recipe of the Month - Soothing Itch Stick
Do bugs love you? Even if you remember to apply your bug spray, some insects can’t resist biting some people. If this is you, here’s what to do to keep bites from getting too itchy or infected.
First, clean around the area with Thieves Spray. We love this handy little bottle and take it everywhere
Next, generously roll this recipe directly on the skin for instant relief and accelerated healing.
If you don't pre-make your 'itch stick', it's ok to layer the essential oils directly on your skin in this order.
Why These Oils?
- Tea Tree neutralises the foreign material on the skin
- Lavender starts the healing process
- Peppermint stops the itching and brings instant relief
What you’ll need:
- 10 ml Roller Bottle
- 10 drops EACH of Tea Tree, Lavender, and Peppermint Essential Oils
- Carrier Oil (e.g. Young Living V-6, Jojoba, Fractionated Coconut, etc)
Instructions:
- Add 10 drops each of your three essential oils to the roller bottle and let them combine
- Top your roller bottle with carrier oil, replace the top and roll to blend.
- Apply to any bug bites or damaged skin to soothe and start the healing!

Essential Oils - Simplified. We don't just teach oils, we teach you how to use them
This week we are talking about how to pamper your Summer Skin.
Do you enjoy the feeling of sunshine on your body…warming your bones and boosting Vitamin D? We do, but by now the summer sunshine is adding up and we still need to protect our skin from the damage.

Made with ingredients you can feel good about, Young Living’s Mineral Sunscreen Lotion provides protection against UVA and UVB rays without harsh chemical ingredients. Instead, the non-greasy sunscreen offers broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection using naturally derived plant- and mineral-based ingredients, including non-nano zinc oxide—a physical UV blocker. It’s reef safe and recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation! Because it is nice and thick, we like to apply using small dot and gently rub to join them together. It's comforting on the skin and feels protective all day.
Lavaderm Cooling Mist is fantastic for helping you to keep your cool when it’s hot outside. It’s like the misters you see at the theme park that keeps everyone cool…except this one is all natural. It’s loaded with soothing lavender to help the skin recover. We like to spritz it on our face, chest and shoulders while out in the sun but it’s also excellent after a shower or before bed. And it can double as a refreshing toner after washing your face. Smells fantastic - spritz liberally!
Lavaderm After-Sun Spray is your best choice for those times when you get too much sun. This plant-based after-sun spray provides temporary relief from the pain and itching of minor burns, minor cuts, sunburns, scrapes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations (proud to say this formulation meets the FDA’s requirements). Its dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. We like how it brings immediate relief, moisturizes to help prevent peeling, and even promotes healthy looking skin. And it does all this without alcohol, parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, animal-derived ingredients, synthetic preservatives, synthetic fragrances, or synthetic colorants! Yes please! I recently sprayed my body after showering and felt the most pleasant cool tingle all over!
Essential oils can be life-changing when you know how to use them. We take the guesswork out — pairing the right oils with your daily habits so they become second nature.

What to do if you Overindulge (so easy to do over summer)
Increased socialising and travel in July can mean consuming lots of foods that may differ from what you usually eat at home. And with the longer days, we tend to eat later at night than we usually do - leaving our guts full of food closer to bedtime. Picnics, BBQs, desserts and too much rosé wine can add up to a sluggish digestive system.
Two oils to the rescue!
We love to use these topically on our abdomens or internally (added to water or directly on the tongue). The relief can be within minutes. Ideally, rub the happy belly roller on before bed and let it fix your gut while you sleep!
For centuries, peppermint has been used to sooth digestive difficulties, freshen breath, relieve gas, headaches and heartburn. It’s a strong oil so you only need a little of it and if you feel it’s too much, dilute with any carrier oil (even olive oil will do). You’ll also never taste a better cup of peppermint tea- only one drop in a cup of hot (not boiling) water for the best digestion drink. Or pop a drop on your tongue if you can handle the blast. This is the equivalent of more than 30 cups of store bought peppermint tea!
Don’t judge this one just by its smell! I promise it is worth getting used to and will quickly become your best friend for supporting your entire digestive system. DiGize is a blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli essential oils. Look up the properties of these individual oils and you'll find out how amazing they are for your body! This one also comes in both the White Label and the regular-coloured label...so it's suitable for ingestion. We have grown to adore this scent because it brings comfort.
Remember to always listen to your body. Enjoy your summer activities with the confidence that reaching for a plant first can support your lifestyle - simple, sustainable, natural solutions!

Each Moon Phase affects your Energy, Mood and Clarity.
We offer intuitive, moon-aligned energy — paired with oils — to help you feel more grounded and emotionally supported throughout the month.

July's Full Moon is thought to originate from Native American culture. It specifically refers to the fact that July is the time of year when male deer begin to grow their antlers.
For us in the UK, the Buck Moon will rise on Thursday 10th July at 9:37pm and be visible in the south-southeast constellation Capricorn, working its way across the southern part of the sky throughout the night, setting in the southwest in the early hours around dawn. The 2025 Buck Moon will be a low-hanging Full Moon.
Unusual as it sounds mid-Summer, this Full Moon asks us to focus our attention on our careers, purpose, projects and commitments. Take a moment to write down your thoughts.
In general, Full Moons matters to us because they signifify completion. Occurring roughly every 29 days, the moon and the sun are directly opposite each other allowing the moon to full reflect the sun's light. This polarity can bring a time of friction and more-intense emotional energy. Everything is in full illumination, making this the perfect time to look honestly at the full spectrum of what is or is not working for you.
This higher energy fosters more outward connection and celebration. We love to meet monthly to celebrate the Full Moon and have our own rituals, which we have grown to look forward to. The energy of the Full Moon can be honoured two days before, the day of, and up to two days after the actual full moon. At this time, your psychic abilities may be more awake - so listen closely to what you intuitively want to shed, let go of and release.
Essential Oils for the Buck Moon
Anyone who knows me, knows I love single oils. This comes from my herbal background, where I look closely at the healing powers of each plant.
This is a powerful blend and enables me to let go of what is no longer serving me.
It includes Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Jasmine and Rose...a magical blend!
We will be thinking of you all on the Buck Moon!

This Week We're Talking About Joyful Movement
Because joyful movement isn't about performance. It's about connection—to your body, to the moment, and to the world around you. It makes you feel ALIVE!

The Delight Of Mindful Paddling
There's something magical about dipping your toes in the water, a little piece of joy that nature gifts us.
Recently, on a beach in Portugal, I couldn’t resist the allure of removing my shoes and stepping into the water. It was sublime – a moment of reconnection with the earth and sea. The feeling of the cold water (and it was Atlantic cold!) rushing over my feet, leaving me feeling grounded and connected to the ocean. Just a few minutes paddling in the shallows can be a complete reboot.
Do you call it paddling (UK) or wading (USA)? Although Maggie and I speak different languages on this, we agree it is simplicity at its finest. We are talking about walking barefoot through shallow water, whether at the beach, in a lake, or even through a welcoming fountain or stream. This delightful activity bridges childhood joy and adult mindfulness, offering a simple means to feel calm, happy, and invigorated.
Why does stepping into water uplift our spirits so remarkably? Your other senses are stimulated if you’re standing at the beach (the feel of the breeze, the sound of the waves, etc) but the real impact comes from the water itself—a unique, grounding embrace that refreshes both body and mind.
Walking in water is more than just pleasant; it's beneficial. Studies suggest that consistent water walking can lower blood pressure and improve balance and muscle function. Soaking your feet can also help improve circulation, deliver stress relief and purify the skin. We often say to start with the feet because when they relax, the entire body follows suit.
Maggie finds her sanctuary in the repetitive pace of paddling along the shore—a natural massage for the feet, stimulating venous and lymphatic flow, washing away fatigue and stress. We both delight in removing our shoes and savouring a soothing paddle.
May your summer be filled with joyful movement and tranquil moments by the water.
P.S. Share your paddling/wading experiences with us—we love hearing how others find joy and connection in these simple joyful moves.
