I didn't arrive here easily, though.
For years, I felt helpless inside my own body. Even as I was learning how to integrate more holistic and "crunchy" habits into my life. I was still struggling daily to live a balanced life. One thing I've learned is that I have to be intentional, even protective, about taking care of me and that means taking care of my body—the temple of God.
But I’m fighting back.
My interest in health, nutrition and wellness grew out of my personal desire to experience optimal health.
I was sick a lot as a kid, almost always tired. The doctor told my mother every test showed I was fine--- it was all in my head— I believed him. But years later, after becoming so fatigued that I could not get out of bed, a friend convinced me to see a nutrition doctor. After one test, he explained that my problem was easy to fix and sent me home, not with any meds, but with a holistic diet. He told me if I did not make lifestyle changes, I would be diabetic by the time I was 30 or 40. Diabetes runs in my family and so does heart disease. I thank God for what I learned because now that I’m in my 60s, I have neither diabetes or heart disease. In fact, after making the recommended dietary adjustments, I felt better in two weeks. And after 5 months, I felt better than I had my entire life. Thus, began my journey to discover nature’s design for wellness.
One of the biggest milestones of my wellness journey was when a friend asked me to try a natural way to address my respiratory issues. At the time, I thought she was a little weird and it went against everything I'd learned in college. But it worked. In minutes I felt relief. That was over 20 years ago and I've continued to learn simple, effective ways to support my health and avoid toxins that sabotage my well-being. If you're ready to make this the best season of your life and want solutions to the health challenges that threaten your vibrancy, you've come to the right place.
