Improve Sleep Quality
Getting more sleep is one of the best ways to have improved energy throughout the day. Here's some helpful tips to do this -
  • Keep a consistent sleep schedule helps to regulate the body’s internal clock.
  • Reducing caffeine consumption after 3 pm may also be helpful, as the effects can last for up to 12 hours.
  • Stay off any screens at least an hour before bed. Blue light can adversely affect your levels of melatonin which helps you fall and stay asleep.
  • Lastly, acknowledge your stresses and make a to-do list for the next day, so your brain isn’t working on overdrive.
Reduce Carb Consumption
Simple carbs are the culprit here – we’re talking sugary drinks, white bread and processed foods. They provide a temporary boost of energy because they are burned through the body quickly as the blood sugar spikes and then sharply drops. Instead, choose whole grains and low-glycemic carbs like oats, sweet potatoes, nuts and legumes for more sustained energy.
Adequate Hydration

Being tired or exhausted is one of the first signs of dehydration.

Our bodies are comprised of 50-75% water, depending on age. Because of this, even small fluctuations can affect your metabolism. Women need an average of 9 cups a day, whereas men need as much as 13 cups a day. Fortunately, if you consume fruits and vegetables, they also contain water, so increasing consumption can also help with hydration.
Get Moving

Incorporating exercise into your daily routine can improve energy levels.

This doesn’t have to be complicated – moderate amounts of your favorite activity is sufficient. Not only are you burning calories, but moving your body sends oxygen and nutrients into the body’s cells, which helps your heart and lungs work more efficiently and to reduce stress.
