Balance this, balance that, blah blah blahhhh.
That word has become a huge thing and it can get really feel repetitive and start to be one of those topics we start to glaze over.
I remember trying to strive for this ‘balanced’ picture perfect life and how unfulfilled I felt, overwhelmed and defeated.
I felt so worn out and defeated because the idea of a balanced life that was engraved in my head, wasn’t even realistic or attainable at all.
I would work myself to death trying to keep my home clean, workout 6 days a week, work 40 hours a week, work another 60 hours a week on my businesses (don’t judge my math), try to keep myself smelling presentable, trying to eat enough, eat good enough, and I was dead.
Balance? More like burning myself out.
It seems like the most unbalanced people are the ones who are stressing over all the non controllable.
When you relax and embrace whatever season you gotta be in right now, life naturally starts to feel more overall balanced.
The fact of the matter is balance isn’t what someone tells you it is, when it comes to your life. It’s what feels most authentic and well-rounded to you.
We can be striving for perfection and balance so much that we become miserable and the exact opposite.
The idea of a perfect balanced life is unattainable and will set you up for failure/disappointment right off the bat. You won’t feel like you’re doing enough constantly because NO ONE can do EVERYTHING that is required for complete ‘balance’.
Find your own sense of balance. If that’s working on your business on your days off, go for it. If it’s taking those 2 days completely off and only working a bit after you get off your job, then do that.
To me a well rounded life is a more doable and enjoyable one.
Sometimes balance will be knowing when to focus on one area of life more than another. When a family member is ill, of course family will be a priority and the rest will be less of a focus.
It’s a process of making the best next move and BEING OKAY IN THAT. Sometimes I have to force myself out of a work mode because I know that my well being relies on those boundaries and the times where I make myself go have some darn fun and enjoy my life.
Learn what your boundaries are and what means the most to you.
This word called balance (more like blah blah), is hyped up a lot, but it’s just a fancy word for living a fulfilling life. Don’t stress over it too much. Just go enjoy this life, my dude.
