Once I turned 50, I gained an appreciation for doing things that will prolong my life using natural products. My BFF was into oils at the time and while I laughed her "potions" I found a couple of them to be pretty effective. I was having hot flashes at the time and she made me a spray with peppermint oil and water that every time I would mist my face would instantly cool me off.
Then, I had a CT scan that determined I had a very large growth on my thyroid. It's encapsulated in the thyroid, so the only way to really know if it's benign or not is to remove 1/2, or all of my thyroid. They did a fine needle biospy and found some hurtle cells (undermined if cancerous or benign). 2nd FNA was "normal", so now I'm just in "wait and see" mode. I started to read about thyroid nodules and read an article on "sacred frankinsense". I bought a bottle and started rubbing it on my neck every night. 2 years later, there's been no growth of my nodule.
Then, I started to research more about other benefits from essential oils. I had an inflammation in my gums and nothing was working. I even went to the dentist and he put me on an antibiotic....still had issues. I read about clove oil and oil pulling and as soon as I started doing both, the inflammation cleared up and has not returned since.
I get sinus infections at least twice a year and the antibiotics have taken a toll on my tummy. I started taking Oregano Oil and Eucolyptus oil and noticed it helped to reduce my infections.
I am by no means an essential oil expert, but I remain more and more interested to explore their benefits and share my successes with my friends and family. I bought a starter kit from Young Living, along with 2 diffusers and ready to continue this journey to get smarter and healthier with these awesome oils and products.
