Okay, like I said, we are going to learn these oils one at a time. So to start I choose the one that got me started, Thieves.
It is one of the most widely used and commonly known oils. I started using the Thieves cleaner as my trial run with oils. It smelled amazing and did a great job for cleaning our cabins. I used it in the bathrooms, kitchens, pretty much everywhere. As I used it I started thinking of all the harsh chemicals in my other cleaners and it suddenly seemed so make perfect sense. Why would I expose myself and my guests to those chemicals on a daily basis?
Once I got comfortable , I started using Thieves in our house. My kids (ages 15,12, and 8), were starting school. I had heard of the benefits of using Thieves on their feet to help with immunity, so decided to try. They love the smell and are now habitual Thieves applicators. Love hearing them check with each other every morning to be sure everyone got some.
We even used it on a long road trip when my oldest had a bad sore throat. I had her gargle one drop every four hours and that helped dramatically.
Thieves is made up of 5 oils; Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary.
All are known for their antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, and antifungal features. It was even found in a medical study to reduce the amount of bacteria found in the air when diffused for 10 min by 44%. Pretty awesome.
I'm still learning more uses, I've gotten the laundry soap which seems to work nicely. The hand soap is so nice to have in the kids's bathrooms, especially this time of year. We now all have the hand sanitizer in our vehicles. I think what I like the most is knowing it's doing its job of protecting me, but also helping my immune system, not just killing the bad stuff. You just can't say that about many things.
So there you have it, the must have in my oil kit, Thieves!
We'll look at a new oil next week. Stay tuned.
