Are you wishing for your perfect life? The perfect body? The perfect career?
Or … are you working for them?
There is a difference. I know you know there is a difference. I have read all about the Law of Attraction and I do think there is some merit to it. However, I also think you attract what you become.
I’ve touched on this before, but I could sit on my backside all day long watching television and eating Five Guys, meditating and wishing I had a great body. However, if I don’t get up off the couch and start moving, if I don’t make better choices about what I’m putting into my body, that body will never be a reality.
Wishing does not equal working. Wanting something will not make it magically appear.
I visualize myself as being a best-selling author, but if I don’t actually write my stories and get them published, that will be just a dream.
We have to take action to get the things we want out of life. If you’re wishing you could be like Kanye and Kim, what are you doing to make that a reality? If you want to live on a farm and raise horses, what are you doing to realize that dream? If you see yourself as one of the top achievers in your company, what are you doing to make that happen?
No matter what dream you have for yourself, you can make it a reality, but you must take action. A dream without a goal is just a wish.
Dream big. Set goals. Take action.
It’s a really simple formula, but one that far too few actually adhere to.
Most people are great at dreaming the big dreams. They’re great at visualizing fabulous houses, expensive cars, gorgeous jewelry and breathtaking vacations to exotic locations. But that’s usually where things stop. They never take that next step from dreaming to actually doing.
They never sit down and actually write down long term goals and the steps necessary to take them from point A to point B. And if they do go so far as to make a plan, they never take action on that plan.
This is why so few people are successful. Success is hard work. Success is dedication. Success is giving up that television show, scrolling through Facebook or cruising the internet. Success is saying no to the bad for you food and yes to food that nourishes you. Success is actually doing and working for what you say you want.
I’m going to steal a phrase from Brian Tracy, but it’s one I absolutely love.
What one thing, if you did it today, could get you closer to your goal?
