Is your household cleaner making you sick?
Is your cleaner on this list? If you're like me, you're probably shocked at how ineffective some of these other cleaners are. But to add to it, many of them contain known toxins that are harmful to our health.
Cleaning with typical national brand cleaners even as little as once a week is as damaging to your respiratory system over time as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years.
This is insane - and motivating. In an independent, peer-reviewed study that was published the American Thoracic Society’s American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, they had some startling conclusions.
The study {based on 20 years of research} shows that cleaning your home with national brand cleaners significantly damages your lung tissue. Almost all of the cleaning products that are available at the grocery store include many harmful chemicals including ammonia, chlorine bleach and other disinfectant compounds. This study included over 6000 male and female subjects with the average age of 34 at the beginning of the study and 54 at the conclusion of it. Subjects used both spray and liquid home cleaning products.
Lung capacity was tested regularly. Results were compiled by 28 top researchers from 9 different countries. This study found that women are affected far more than men and cleaning at home is just as harmful as being an occupational cleaner if not more so. The “cleaning at home” group saw the same decrease in lung health as the “occupational cleaning” group.
So what is the solution if traditional cleaners are dangerous to our health? Luckily, the cleaner that contains none of the toxins yet cleans so effectively is the one made by Young Living called Thieves Household Cleaner. It is a strange name that goes back to the days of the Plague. Grave robbers were stealing from the deceased plague victims but not getting ill themselves. Once arrested, they shared their natural secret blend which has been passed down to today.
