How Bad Can It Be?

How Bad Can It Be?

Hello!

My 15-year-old son has been mowing yards and doing other yard work to earn some money and our old push mower was in serious need of replacing.  He had saved enough to buy a new one when the old one completely went out on him and we went shopping for a new lawnmower.

While they are pretty simple machines, mowers and motors are NOT my areas of expertise at all.  He finished up the first yard with the new mower and was checking the filter.  Surprised, I expected it to be fine after only one yard.  But it was a little bit gunked up already and when we got home he not only rinsed off the outside of his pretty new red mower but opened it up and took out the filter, washing it, too.

I was thinking about how our livers are like that mower filter.   [Mom Analogies, my kids would be rolling their eyes]

We never tend to think about the liver until there is a breakdown.

I asked my son whether he had cleaned the filter on the old mower after each yard.

The answer:  NO.

The old mower had a filter that was harder to get to.  You had to unscrew the cover to take it off to take the filter out which was inconvenient.  I’m happy he is taking care of his new mower.

What if like the mower filter, we cleaned up our livers regularly?  Is it that important?  Would it really make a difference?

According to Dr. Edward Group in this article there cleansing your liver can help you lose weight, eliminate liver stones, increase energy, and look and feel years younger!  We can’t take it out and hose it down, so what can we do?

There are a variety of “cleanses” being touted, but I recommend proceeding with caution.  Firstly, if you are under a doctor’s care for any medical issue or taking any medicine I recommend clearing it with your doctor prior to starting.  Also if you are having or begin to have any pain or other issues, see your healthcare practitioner.*

Everyday maintenance as well as a more thorough cleanse periodically may help keep our intestines and livers in tip-top shape.  Let’s look at what you can do for a periodic cleanse first.  The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse includes products for a short-term cleanse and includes not just the liver, but is a digestion and elimination Kickstarter.  The 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse by Young Living is a kit containing three different items.

5-Day Nutritive Cleanse kit:  Ningxia Red drink supplement, an energizing, replenishing, whole wolfberry nutrient infusion; Balance Complete, a super-food-based, daily, superfood energizer and nutritive cleanse; Digest + cleanse, which soothes gastrointestinal discomfort and supports healthy digestion.

Dr. Mary Starr recommends the 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse calling it a perfect way to start any weight management program and stating that it will supersaturate the body with nutrients and fiber during those first five days and will help our body to rest.  Ningxia Red is a superfood drink supplement derived from the Chinese Wolfberry that is very tasty and super-high in antioxidants which is great for everyday use taking an ounce to two ounces each day rather than up to six ounces recommended for these five days.  Balance Complete is a meal replacement drink mix.  With this blend of time-tested essential oils, you may use Digest + Cleanse to soothe the bowel, prevent gas, and stimulate stomach secretions to assist in proper digestion.

The Cleansing Trio is another kit with three different products, ComforTone, Essentialzyme, and ICP.  ComforTone is for cleansing your large intestine/colon.  It pairs with Essentialzyme

Essentialzyme is an advanced multi-enzyme complex that helps you to digest and get the nutritional benefits from your food.  Enzyme production naturally declines with age so this is something you can use all the time.  After 2-3 weeks of consistent BMs, you add in the third tool and that is ICP, which is a fiber drink mix.

Other tips are to add in more water and be sure to stay well hydrated, especially while doing a cleanse.  Remember that caffeinated and sugary drinks are not that helpful for this purpose.  And adding in a good quality probiotic if you don’t already use one is a great tip.  Our Life 9 probiotic supplement is a good choice.

And finally, with the digestion working well and the intestines cleansed, you can support and cleanse the liver with our “Juva” products!

JuvaPower - Listen to Kristy Laine tell about how she uses JuvaPower to “give a little love” to her family and their digestion here.  It helps digested food move out of the body.

JuvaCleanse essential oil and JuvaCleanse Vitality

JuvaFlex essential oil and JuvaFlex Vitality

(Hint:  The "Vitality" oils are labeled for internal use)

And Sulpherzyme - supports the liver and assists in breaking down fats.

WOW! ~  that’s a lot of information.  Let me know if I can answer any questions.

By the way, little brother enjoyed pushing the old non-working mower around pretending to work while his older brother mowed with his new mower.  And mom, I smiled to myself and started picking up sticks.

Happy Oiling!
