The Truth About Midlife Metabolism

In midlife, several things shift at once:

• Estrogen declines
• Insulin sensitivity changes
• Muscle mass decreases
• Cortisol becomes harder to regulate
• Sleep becomes lighter

Each of those directly affects how your body stores and burns fuel.

So when women try to “burn” without first restoring balance, the body reads it as stress.

And then we blame ourselves.

There was a time I thought discipline was the answer.

More control.
More rules.
More restriction.

But the more I restricted, the more tired I became.

And exhaustion does not build a thriving life.

Especially not one where:

• Play with grandbabies

• Feel confident in your clothes

The shift happened when I stopped asking:

“How do I shrink my body?”
And started asking:
“How do I support it?”

What I Focus On Instead
