Stress Away! Stress Go Far Far Away!

We live in a day and age where the pedal is to the metal. We are BUSY. Busy with working our full time jobs, BUSY with taking kids to their activities, BUSY with laundry, BUSY commuting in traffic, BUSY with packing lunches and making dinners and so much more. Most of us are exhausted by the end of the day. And we wake up to do it all over again. Most of us are living with high pressure emotions.

And then one day in March 2020 everything came to a stand still and we were all told to stay home. Now, some people got this news and thought, okay I could use the break.You want me to stay home on the couch and watch netflix! DONE! But, after a week or two that break became boring. And your emotions start to change again. You notice that you are napping more, eating more and maybe your favourite pants just don't fit like they use to. Your energy level is now down and you are not sleeping through the night. Another set of emotions come into play. You miss your friends you feel lonely and down.

But some people got this news and their emotions took them to another stage. A stage of extreme worry. Now your emotions come in to play again. Fear of the unknown sets in. Fear of loss of work, feelings of sadness that you can't just grocery shop like you use to, scared to bring groceries into your home, scared to leave your house.

This time in our lives have brought on a lot of feelings and emotions for everyone. I heard it best on facebook where somebody said "We are all in the same storm but we are all in different boats". I loved this comparison because I think it is so true. No matter who you are you have most likely experienced some sort of emotions related to what we are going through right now.

But you know who I think get forgotten when it comes to their feelings in this time we are in. Our children. We often see the kids playing, laughing and smiling. Maybe they are happy that summer has started early. Maybe they are able to game online with their friends all day, maybe they don't mind sitting on the couch and watching netflix. However, most of them are struggling too. They sometimes don't know how to express it. Many of them miss their friends, they miss school, they miss their activities and playing on playgrounds.

So how do we take care of ourselves and our children. What are some things we can do to help us cope with all these mixed emotions? For me this is my worry. Not for myself but for my family. I know first hand how our emotions can wreak havoc on our bodies, how they can mess with our sleep, our energy, raise our cortisol levels which can cause belly fat and so many other symptoms. To me taking care of our mindset, our emotions and feelings is at the top of my list. And it is something I really try to watch with the members of our family. I make sure to try and have one on one time with each kid. I try to have open ended questions and conversations that help me see how they are feeling. Because I am a big believer that talking about things help. We also do a family run every morning. Not all the kids participate all the time but we cheer them on for getting out and running when they do. We encourage them to go for walks with us, to play board games with us. We encourage the outdoors and activity, because the endorphins from exercise help lift our moods. Another thing that we use is a Young Living Essential Oil called Stress Away.

Stress Away was our family's gateway oil? It is the product that started it all for us. I actually bought it as a last ditch effort to help my husband with his emotions. I honestly didn't think that it would work. BUT IT DID! And since then we always keep a couple of bottles on hand at all times. My kids are really good because I see when they need it they go to the Oil Shelf and put it on themselves. And there are times that I can tell they need it so I take it and put it on them as a little massage on their neck. I also try to have my diffusers running all the time because we find the aroma so calming and it makes us feel happy. Let me share some info right off the Young Living Website about Stress Away so you can see for yourself;
