Today is the first day of the water challenge. How is it going? I have had 72 ozs. and have some more to go. Keep going...you will feel better and be less hungry. Let me hear how you are doing.

Hey Guys,

What about a water Challenge. I had so....many comment on my water post. Lets encourage each other with a challenge. Starting Tuesday Steptember 8th, everyone drink half your weight in ozs. of water (tea and coffe count). This challenge will go on for 1 week. Please also respond to this email if you plan to participate. I would love to hear everyones story about how they are doing. You may want to weigh yourself before hand. Good luck...and let me hear from you.I am so...excited!

Drink your Water ( I know you have heard this said a million times)

When healthy living is mentioned, water is always part of the discussion. The reality is that water is ESSENTIAL to healthy living and healthy weight loss. Water has so many benefits. The benefit that helps me the most is that I am less hungry and I eat less. Want to know how to eat less? Drink 1/2 you weight in ozs. of water a day.

2 weeks ago I participated in a water challenge. Going in I thought "I have this, I drinks lots of water a day!" Well after counting my ozs I realized I was not dinking near enough. And over the week I lost 2.3 lbs. Just by drinking half my weight in ozs of water a day. Sweet!

So what did I do after my weekly challenge? I encouraged some friends of mine to participate in another week with me. After 2 weeks I have developed a much better habit of drinking all the water I really need. Do you drink your water?

So anyone out up for a challenge?

How many advertisements do you see a day that ask you "Do you struggle to loose weight? And are you able to keep it off?  Like many of you I have been on every diet and every "eating plan". But it took a "wake up call" of high blood sugar that changed my way of thinking. Most people feel that loosing weight has to do with the right diet.... or the right mindset... self-control or all in exercising.  What if it had to do with something else?

Was I in good health at the time? What does good health have to do with weight loss? As I began to study I realized a poor diet (lots of fast food), stress, and limited exercise was bringing my health down. I was not sleeping, poor gut health, poor sleep and being tired all the time....was not a sign of good health. But what could I do to become healthy? What would make my body function as a well oiled machine? And would it help me loose weight.

Well it has been 3 years since I told my doctor no to Metformin and began my healthy journey. I did not join a weight loss group or plan. I did not have a support group meeting every week or even weigh myself. I have lost 45 lbs. and except for the few pounds over Covid I have kept it off.

I learned how to enjoy life over 50......

 

Turning 40 was a magical age for me. I was at an age where life was easy. I enjoyed scrapbooking and crafting with my friends, homeschooling my son and serving alongside my husband in our local church. Even though I was overweight I looked good and felt good. But within a few short years my health changed dramatically. I developed respiratory issues, pelvic pain, and a chronic disorder characterized by “widespread muscle pain with fatigue and tenderness”.  Occasional anxiety set in. My decline really affected my ability to be creative, to minister effectively in my church and to function at home.


 I suffered through a hysterectomy and many doctors visits. A change in seasons would send me in a painful roller coaster of antibiotics and steroids. Spending a whole day in bed became normal.  Age 50 came quickly with no lasting solutions.


Eventually I began to explore and research natural remedies. Something I was not taught in my younger years was lifestyle.  I considered that maybe my lifestyle was contributing to my health issues and my emotions.


One day I was venting my frustration to a friend who had been battling some of  the same chronic issues. We talked about some of the natural solutions I had read about. One of the  solutions she had used and had some great results with. I became instantly interested.


That is when my real life changing journey began. I found a solution that has contributed to a healthy lifestyle and brought about the quality of life I was looking for.  It is my mission to share with mature women, how to embrace the enjoyment of life over 50.
