These past couple of months have been hard on many people. We have tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, financial difficulties, physical struggles....etc. Not only do I have friends in the path of the hurricanes but I have many friends who are slowly watching their parents decline and pass away. Loosing parents is one of the most emotionally difficult events to walk through. When I listen to friends and their struggles it is hard not to become discouraged.
But, I am also reminded that I serve a big God. I have seen tragedy bring people together in many ways. Neighbors, family, and friends are more kind and willing to reach out in tragedy. Despite a really divided country, the American people are coming together. Sometimes HOPE is hard fought. When I am short on being encouraged about the future I seek God and use an essential oil called Hope by YL. With frayed emotions Hope oil really helps in finding encouragement. God can be found in hard places and He makes hard times more bearable. I am reminded that during the Civil War and World War II, Christian revival broke out across the United States. Hopefully during our present hard times, people will continue to reach out to one another and to God. It is true that "with God all things are possible." Using Hope essential oil is easy. I just breathe it in and diffuse it. Give it a try....essential oils really do work.

Yesterday, I was shocked when I opened my gas bill. The gas company had almost doubled my monthly payment. I was flabbergasted. I called the company and they said I was using more gas.This past year has very overwhelming with all my monthly bills. I know I am not alone. But what can you do when you need heating and air. I do not have any other options. There is not another gas companys to switch to.
This circumstance really got me on my knees. I know God always provides but it feels like my family is just skating by. We are not living abundantly. So....today I decided to pray and diffuse an oil from Young Living called Abundance. When I am feeling overwhelmed financially I pray. But sometimes I need a little emotional support so I diffused oils. What the oil of Abundance does is remind me of what I have an abundance of. Are you living abundantly? What do you have an "abundance of"? Maybe it is family, work, food, money....? I started asking myself this question. Receiving hundreds of birthday wishes yesterday on Facebook reminded what I have an abundance of....I have an abundance of FRIENDS! Over hundred friends wished me happy birthday. So many more took me out to lunch and gave me cards and gifts.
This week I went home to Tupelo. Ms. It is still my home. I visited with friends who I have known since I was 15 years old. I have friends from high school, work, crafting, church, facebook etc. And, I am fortunate to have many. I have an abundance of friends and I am so blessed.
So this is the challenge. What do you have an abundance of? I will be reflecting on this question over the next several weeks. I will let you know what comes of this challange. We live in a time when Joy is sometimes hard to experience. Though I lost my parents years ago, I am watching my friends slowly watch their parents fade. Everyday there is a new set of problems for caretakers. I also know it is an election year. It seems lines are drawn and their is a struggle to protect friendships from being torn apart by politics. Funny thing is none of those politicians know me or my friends. Lets not forget the stress of grocery shopping, buying gas etc. The struggle goes on and on.....
It is good news to know that our hope is found in God, not man. But sometimes joy is hard to obtain. As we age we produce less hormones and a physical struggle begins. Our emotions are more strained and sometimes we need a little help. If you want some natural support I highly recommend essential oils. I love Young Living's Joy oil. It smells wonderful, and brings about peace. Usually after a while I find joy.
