Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer
Just in time for fall...check out this recipe for Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer!

This non-dairy Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer tastes like fall in a cup! The delightful flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove essential oils add just the right amount of spice. Enjoy this creamer in a warm cup of coffee as a natural alternative to the PSL. You don’t have to miss out on this fall tradition!

Every year between fall and Christmas, pumpkin-flavored everything makes its appearance. It’s hard to avoid. Between the grocery stores, coffee shops, and big-box stores you will be bombarded by the scents and flavors of pumpkin spice season.
If you are looking to avoid harmful ingredients, it is so easy to recreate the many flavors and aromas of fall with essential oils. Scented candles can be replaced by room sprays, and you can avoid artificial flavors and colors with a few drops of fall vitality essential oils added to your food.

Although I try to avoid sugary beverages, I can’t say I don’t enjoy the taste of a Pumpkin Spice Latte. It has always been one of my favorite ways to get fall started. Even when the weather doesn’t quite say fall, you can still partake in the joys of the season.
Unfortunately, the ingredients in this famous beverage are not quite in line with my diet and nutritional needs. Plus, it’s expensive with the current price at around $5. That’s about the cost of a carton of organic eggs! So now I skip it and make a healthier alternative at home

Did you know that there is not actually any real pumpkin in the famous PSL? Here are some of the ingredients you will find in this beverage:
  • Artificial flavors
  • Preservatives
  • Food dyes
  • High fructose corn syrup
  • Genetically modified ingredients
You can read more about the actual ingredients in a Pumpkin Spice Latte here.

INGREDIENTS IN THIS NON-DAIRY PUMPKIN SPICE COFFEE CREAMER
  • Plant-based milk – almond, soy, rice, oat, and coconut milk are all healthy alternatives to cow’s milk. Plant-based milk is easy to digest, allergen-friendly and is typically low in fat and calories. Try to find an unsweetened version to avoid added sugars.
  • Pureed organic pumpkin – pumpkin is naturally high in vitamins C & E, fiber, and is an excellent source of beta-carotene.
  • Vanilla extract – vanilla adds additional flavor to baked goods without adding any additional sugar. It is rich in antioxidants and it has a sweet, comforting aroma.
  • Vitality essential oils – the Vitality line by Young Living is perfect for adding quality flavor to your favorite recipes or using as dietary supplements. Essential oils can add the flavor that you’re seeking without altering the color or consistency of baked goods or beverages.

What’s the deal with my natural deodorant not working?

What’s the deal with my natural deodorant not working?
Have you tried natural deodorants before but they’ve been ineffective? 😬That’s because you need to detox your armpit first!

💨 Conventional deodorants and antiperspirants contain a variety of chemicals and additives. It takes something unnatural to block the body’s natural ability to sweat, and the chemical list in some deodorants is worrying:

☠️ Aluminum– Some evidence links aluminum to can-sir  and Alzheimer’s Disease

👶🏼 Phthalates– Endocrine disruptors often also found in plastic that can cause hormone imbalance and even infertility (especially in men)

🤧 Propylene glycol– Common name: antifreeze. It is a hotly debated additive in personal care products but it is reported that it carries a risk of immunotoxicity and allergies

🎀 Parabens- Another hormone disruptor and parabens have been found in biopsied tissue with breast can-sir

🦠 Antibacterial Substances- Also endocrine disruptors and can negatively affect the immune system

Heads up! 💡 Lymph nodes are located by our armpit so putting endocrine disrupters and toxic chemicals on these, which are part of our immune system, isn’t a wise idea.

A benefit of doing an armpit detox is that it may pull some of these chemicals out of the skin and tissue of the armpits. This can be especially helpful after years of conventional deodorant use.

After an armpit detox you’re more likely to be able to use natural deodorant and remain fresh all day. It’s the old bacteria and toxins that lead to the smell - not fresh sweat! 💧

You just need:
💫 1 tsp bentonite clay
💫 1 tap charcoal
💫 apple cider vinegar
💫 water

Put powders in a bowl and add equal parts water and ACV slowly. Mix together into a paste, apply, wait for it to harden/absorb and remove. Bear in mind it can take a few months to fully detox the armpit, so don’t discard your natural deodorant too soon! 💛

Fruit and Veggies Wash as Carpet Cleaner?

Fruit and Veggies Wash as Carpet Cleaner?
Sooo... here's a hack that a friend of mine just shared with me.  I'm super excited to try it on several stains I have and am hoping it will be helpful for some of you out there!

"We have had this stain in one of our guest bedrooms for a LONG time.  We've tried Thieves Household cleaner, hydrogen peroxide, and other natural carpet cleaners and we've had the carpets cleaned three times professionally since this stain appeared.  The last carpet cleaner told me we would just have to replace the carpet at some point.  We were covering up the biggest stain with a throw rug.  Ugh!

We have no idea what it was, but it looked like a stain from a sports drink or Kool-aid from one of our guests.  It was a HUGE oval stain and there were several around this bedroom. After listening to a friend talk about the enzymatic action of the Thieves Fruit and Veggie Wash, I thought... why not try it? So I rubbed some into the stain with my fingers (didn't want to waste any of it on a rag) and left it for 24 hours.  I came back and it was GONE!  Eeek!  (That was the right side)

So then I wondered if the small spray bottle of the Fruit and Veggie wash (which is a different formulation) would work as well?  I sprayed it on the other side of the big oval stain and 24 hours later... wha la!  It was gone too! I left the middle just long enough so I could take a picture of the difference. I'm in the process of trying it on various other types of stains... but even if it just takes out these ones... I'm ecstatic! Next time the carpet cleaner comes... I am sooo giving him a bottle of this to experiment with!  😉   I also wonder if it would work as well diluted a bit. So much future experimenting to do with this!"

Self-Care Blends

Self-Care Blends
Diffuse it, roll it, spray it!
Self-care takes intention. True self-care is about creating habits that truly nourish your mind, body, and spirit. This is definitely something I can get behind! When we truly invest in our health, we can better love and serve those in our lives, filling them with the goodness we have filled for ourselves! Try one of these blends to nourish yourself (and those you love)!

You can use these recipes as a diffuser blend, a 10mL roller blend (https://amzn.to/3rE96Gt) or a 2oz spray (https://amzn.to/3L9Jb0M). For the diffuser blends, follow recipes as written below. For a spray, use the same oils but have a total of 20-25 drops in a 2oz bottle. First add the essential oils, then add splash of witch hazel (https://amzn.to/3rBhxCo) and fill with water. If you want a larger spray bottle, simply double the amounts. For roller blends, have the total drops of oils around 30-40. First add essential oils to the bottle, then add carrier of choice.
