Diffuse it, roll it, spray it!
Self-care takes intention. True self-care is about creating habits that truly nourish your mind, body, and spirit. This is definitely something I can get behind! When we truly invest in our health, we can better love and serve those in our lives, filling them with the goodness we have filled for ourselves! Try one of these blends to nourish yourself (and those you love)!
You can use these recipes as a diffuser blend, a 10mL roller blend (https://amzn.to/3rE96Gt) or a 2oz spray (https://amzn.to/3L9Jb0M). For the diffuser blends, follow recipes as written below. For a spray, use the same oils but have a total of 20-25 drops in a 2oz bottle. First add the essential oils, then add splash of witch hazel (https://amzn.to/3rBhxCo) and fill with water. If you want a larger spray bottle, simply double the amounts. For roller blends, have the total drops of oils around 30-40. First add essential oils to the bottle, then add carrier of choice.

Summer gets me excited!! I see ideas and want to share a healthier version. I loved scented candles for keeping away bugs. This post shares how to replace the scents with essential oils-not the harsh, toxic ingredients usually found in them.
HERE GOES!! 😊 👏👏

Did you know you probably have most of the ingredients for these mosquito repellent candles already in your home? And if you don’t, it’s super easy to snag them now!
Yep! Not only are these candles super easy to make, but the supplies and ingredients are also pretty simple, and chemical-free of course! 😉
1️⃣ First, slice one lemon and one lime (this will be enough for two candles).
2️⃣ Then, add a couple of slices of lemon and lime to the jar.
3️⃣ Next, add a couple of sprigs of basil.
4️⃣ Then, fill jar with water up to threads.
5️⃣After that, add in 10 – 15 drops of lemongrass oil or citronella oil.
6️⃣ Now, stir. Then add in a soy-made floating candle.
Finally, light the candle and enjoy a pest-free summer! AHHHHH!!!

Wow! I’m loving these tips from a friend on natural ways to reduce chlorine exposure.
I don’t know about you, but every time we go to the pool someone has issues - itchy skin, respiratory issues, and red eyes. Ugh! So gross.
//////////
Even though we converted our pool to a saltwater pool, we're still exposed to some levels of chlorine.
Here are a few tricks we use to counteract chlorine exposure:
1. We often massage coconut oil into our skin before entering the pool. This gives us extra protection from the chlorine (which can strip away the healthy acid mantle of the skin).
2. We take lots of Super C (this is Young Living’s Vitamin C supplement). The chemical structure of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) neutralizes chlorine. I like the Young Living Super C Chewables… because the boys don’t like to swallow pills (and neither do I, to be honest!). And... vitamin C is a great support to our immune systems.
3. We apply Lemon essential oil and/or DiGize essential oil blend on the bottom of the feet (both from Young Living).
4. After they get out of the pool, my boys literally run upstairs and take a detox bath with Epsom salts (I don't even have to ask them to do this anymore... they love their baths!).

Here is an activity for the kids that is free of harmful dyes and ingredients and leaves the house and their little hands smelling amazing, and you can support their bodies in the process. You can make this together, super easy, then let them play the day away!!
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 1 cup Kidscents lotion
- 10 drops Lavender essential oil (or other calming oil of choice*)
- Mix all the ingredients together and let their imaginations run wild!
Other great oil options: Peace & Calming, Seedlings Calm, Valor, Stress Away, Grapefruit + Tangerine (citrus oils are wonderful for stimulating creativity), GeneYus (great for focus), Thieves (use 5 drops, great for immune support), R.C. (use 5 drops, great for respiratory support).
