My story is not as dramatic as some but it's about living a life of wellness and fullness to the maximum possible and where I am today on this journey would not have been possible had it not been for the grace of God and his angels who I believe helped me by placing things and people in my life path.
I was a somewhat sickly child and cannot even remember a Christmas where I was not in bed with strep throat which seemed to be my nemesis in the winter in Cleveland, Ohio. In grade school I ended up being excused from gym classes due to my health. My parents were good people doing the best that they could in an ordinary middle-class family, but my mother was enthralled with convenience of what was then new and modern such as TV dinners and instant foods. The farm fresh produce and foods were just old-fashioned. So we grew up on TV dinners, not really cheese or not really meat products, "instant" potatoes and milk and of course the white bread still sold in the stores today. I also had a heart murmur as a child and there was a bout where both my brother and myself were in the hospital with scarlet fever. I can only imagine the cost burden that placed on my parents. I can remember being in the hospital more times before the age of 20 than I have for the entire rest of my life to date.
At around 19-20 years old I made a decision that changed the rest of my life. I decided that since the path I had been on didn't seem to have answers to the things that plagued me that I would have to take charge of my own life and learn as much as I could about how to support my health and my mind and body. It took lots of prayer and I am still praying, learning and growing each day from the friends I meet and things I read. That small decision changed my life for the better and by just changing the way I ate I found myself getting better and stronger and mind you it was not a radical all at once change. However, my children now grown joke about how they had to sneak white bread because I would not allow it in the house as they were growing up. The standard American diet (SAD) was still our fare, but by just trying to change from instant to more natural products I saw a big difference in my life. So big that I had two of my babies at home part of the home birthing movement, and with the support of our family physician and my husband working in a medical lab we were able to monitor that what we did was safe and healthy for ourselves and growing family. So big in fact that I spent 21 years in military service as part of the USAF/Air National Guard. Amazing for a kid who could not attend gym!
After making some dietary changes I moved to herbs and their benefits to health and wellness and now I am passionate about essential oils. The quality of anything is important and it is becoming more and more clear in our daily lives as people seek out gluten free, organic, and other products free of chemicals with side effects. Understanding that more and more I am still making changes in diet little by little. Our modern world has many benefits such as blogging and the internet which I love like having the library of the world in your home, but in some aspects we still need some grounding and to be mindful of the blessings that are right in front of us. The seed to seal promise of this company is impressive and if not this product please ensure you educate yourself about the importance of a non-contaminated and therapeutic grade oil. Essential oils are the most powerful part of the plant and they provide support for every system in our bodies and many cultures have used them for centuries including references to them in the Bible. You don't have to be an aromatherapist to use them or have a degree!
At first I just wanted to use the oils on myself, but then I started giving them away to family and friends and now I am passionate about sharing them with anyone who is interested as I see the benefits unfold for myself, my family, and yes our little dog. My journey is not ended and something tells me that a new chapter is just beginning. I hope to lead my children and beloved friends by being thankful for the blessings in my life and utilizing the gift of learning to maintain my health and wellness. I hope you will find my blogs helpful in your journey as I share mine with you all and I wish for you God's blessing and the help of his angels along your path.
