Welcome, friends

Hi there,

I'm Carole, mostly known for my garden, my speaking and as a traveller. There's quite a few other things in the mix too. You'll often find me out in the garden, in the kitchen, taking photographs or delivering a speech on Zoom.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLERS

The things I'm most passionate about are working with Mother Nature towards a productive garden as well as re-using  things, recycling and repurposing wherever possible.  At our place we harness rainwater for home, the sun's energy for power and a few other cool ideas for life in the 21st Century.  Hand in hand in with what we grow, we are lovers of nature distilled for aromatics, for flavour and for health - yes that's right we love essential oils.

When my head is in a book, it's generally about cooking, essential oils or travel

BACKYARD FUN

Growing a few more unusual plants can be novel, you'd probably say even quirky (like these prettiest of flowers to bring us a few tiny strands of saffron.   Add to this a variety of citrus, fujoas, figs, chickory, red cabbage ... the list goes on and then a selection of aromatic herbs.

CREATIVE THINKING

We love it when we see others being creative like this tractor with a new lease on life repurposed as garden art - Sean the Sheep is hard at work!  We'vebeen known to be creative too at our place.
Amazing what you can do with an old tractor and metal bits and bobs

 VOLUNTEERS

We regularly find self-seeded plants around the garden, particularly the flowering annuals and fragrant herbs like this cheeky lemongrass which has managed a strong foothold into the lawn.   We call them volunteers.  Any which way the flowers in blooming colour and aroma of the herbs have bees buzzing around the garden - nature's pollinators.

INSPIRATION

I've been inspired into action being privileged to learn from mentors in my speaking groups.  I now mentor others knowing the confidence and presence these skills engender.    I volunteer from time to time for a few not-for-profit organisations.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS BEYOND
Getting into the great outdoors and beyond our fence serves to balance up our lifestyle.  Check out my  my blog where I talk about health and wellness, maintaining an even keel in challenging times.  Still here ?   Let's connect.
