Are you tired of living in a cluttered home, but equally tired of the thought of spending hours cleaning? Fear not, my fellow lazy individuals, for I have the solution for you. Let me introduce you to the 20-minute home tidy up, a quick and efficient way to declutter your living space without sacrificing your whole day. Not convinced? Not to worry. In this blog, I will be sharing my top 5 tips for a successful quick clean, that even the laziest of people can achieve. So sit back, relax, and let's get cleaning!
Prioritize:
The first step in a successful 20-minute tidy up is to prioritize. Start by identifying the messiest areas of your home, such as the bedroom, living room, or kitchen. From there, pick the top one or two areas that are causing the most clutter and focus on those. By narrowing your focus, you'll be able to achieve a significant impact in just 20 minutes.
Don't Procrastinate:
Once you've identified the areas of focus, don't waste any time. Put on some upbeat music, set a timer, and dive in. Procrastination is the enemy of productivity, and you'll be surprised at how much you can get done in just 20 minutes.
Use Three-Box Method:
The three-box method is a tried and true method for decluttering your home. Gather three boxes or bins and label them as 'keep,' 'donate,' and 'throw away.' As you work your way through your chosen areas, place items in their designated boxes. Remember, the goal is to keep only the things that add value to your life, or that spark joy, as Marie Kondo would say.
Multitask:
Cleaning doesn't have to be boring. With the 20-minute tidy up, you can multitask by combining activities that you already enjoy. For example, if you love listening to podcasts or audiobooks, put them on while you clean. Or combine your workout routine with your cleaning routine by doing squats while you clean the floors. The possibilities are endless!
Make it a Routine:
The key to maintaining a clutter-free home is to make the 20-minute tidy up a routine. By dedicating just 20 minutes a day, you'll be able to prevent clutter from building up and avoiding overwhelming cleaning sessions. Whether you choose to do it first thing in the morning or in the evening before bed, make it a habit, and, over time, you'll see a significant improvement in your home's overall cleanliness and organization.
In conclusion, tidying up doesn't have to be an overwhelming task that takes up your whole day. With these five tips, even the laziest person can achieve a clutter-free home in just 20 minutes a day. Remember to prioritize, don't procrastinate, use the three-box method, multitask, and making your quick clean routine, and you'll be well on your way to a more organized and happier life. Happy cleaning!
