WHY DOES IT SEEM FEMALE BABY BOOMERS FIND IT DIFFICULT TO LOSE WEIGHT

There are sevderal factors that may contribute to  female baby boomers finding it difficult to lose weight.  some of those factors may include:
1. Hormonal changes.  as women age  hormonal changes can effect our metabolism and make it more difficult to lose weight.  menopause can lead to a decrease in estrogenlevels which can slow down our metabolism and increase our fat storage.

2Slowing metabolism   with age our metabolism will slow down naturally making it more difficult  to burn calories and lose weight.  this can be made worse by a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choices
3 Muscle loss.  as we age we tend to lose mass which will also slow down our metabolism making it harder to lose weight.  Build and maintaining muscle thru strength training may help this issue.

4.  Stress and emotional eating  Baby Boomers may be dealing with a variety of stressors such as caring for aging parents financial concerns or health issues, which  may lead to emotional eating and weight gain.  learning healthy coping mechanisms for stress can help in managing weight
5.  Lifestyle factors  Baby Boomers may have  very busy schedules juggling work, family, and other responsibilities making it challenging to find time for exercise and meal planning.  Making time for self care and prioritizing healthy habits are essential for successful weight loss

In conclusion it is ver important for female baby boomers to focus on regular exercise, balanced nutrition, restful sleep and stress management  in order to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.  think about consulting with your PCP or a registered dietitian that can provide you with personalized guidance and support for weight loss goals

BABY BOOMERS INFLUENCE ON AMERICAN CULTURE

Baby boomers, the generation born between 1946 and 1964, have significantly influenced American culture in various ways. Here are some notable examples:
  1. Music and Entertainment: Baby boomers were central to the rise of rock 'n' roll, with iconic artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Elvis Presley defining the era. They also witnessed the evolution of genres like disco, punk, and hip-hop. Disco and  classic rock and roll being my "go to" for getting in a good mood
  2. Social Movements: This generation played a key role in the civil rights movement, the feminist movement, and anti-war protests, especially against the Vietnam War. These movements led to significant changes in laws and societal norms.
  3. Television and Film: The boomers grew up with the advent of television and later contributed to the golden age of cinema in the 1970s. They popularized shows like "I Love Lucy," "Star Trek," and "MAS*H," and films like "Jaws," "Star Wars," and "The Godfather.".  As a child I loved the Friday nite tv shows like the Brady bunch, the partrige family, the odd couple being my favorite, then love American style
  4. Consumer Culture: As the first generation to grow up in a post-war economy, baby boomers greatly influenced consumer culture. They drove the demand for automobiles, housing, and consumer electronics, shaping the market and advertising industries.
  5. Technology and Innovation: Many tech pioneers are baby boomers, including Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Tim Berners-Lee. Their contributions have been crucial in the development of personal computing, the internet, and modern technology.
  6. Work Ethic and Corporate Culture: Boomers largely defined the modern corporate culture and work ethic. They emphasized hard work, loyalty to employers, and the pursuit of the American Dream, which influenced workplace norms and expectations.
These are just a few examples of how baby boomers have left a lasting impact on various aspects of American culture.

BABY BOOMER AND BIG PHARMA CONCERNS and some Young Living Solutions

Examples of Baby boomer and big pharmacy concerns

Baby boomers and their concerns about big pharmacy (pharmaceutical companies) often intersect around several key issues:
  1. Drug Pricing:
    • Concern: Many baby boomers are on fixed incomes or retirement plans, making the high cost of prescription drugs a significant concern.
    • Example: The rising cost of insulin has been a prominent issue, as many older adults with diabetes struggle to afford this essential medication.
  2. Access to Medications:
    • Concern: There are worries about the availability and accessibility of necessary medications, particularly in rural or underserved areas.
    • Example: Shortages of critical medications, such as EpiPens, can have serious implications for older adults who rely on them.
  3. Medication Safety and Efficacy:
    • Concern: Baby boomers are concerned about the safety and effectiveness of the medications they take, especially with the rise of generic drugs and overseas manufacturing.
    • Example: Recalls of blood pressure medications contaminated with carcinogens have raised alarms about the safety of widely used drugs.
  4. Over-Medication and Polypharmacy:
    • Concern: The risk of over-medication and harmful drug interactions is higher among older adults who often take multiple prescriptions.
    • Example: Concerns about polypharmacy have led to more focus on deprescribing and reviewing the necessity of each medication in an older adult’s regimen.
  5. Pharmaceutical Ethics and Practices:
    • Concern: There is skepticism about the ethics of big pharmaceutical companies, including issues like aggressive marketing, transparency, and the influence of pharma on healthcare providers.
    • Example: The opioid crisis has highlighted unethical practices by some pharmaceutical companies in the promotion and distribution of addictive pain medications.
  6. Regulation and Approval Processes:
    • Concern: The adequacy of regulatory oversight by agencies like the FDA is a concern, especially with fast-tracked drug approvals.
    • Example: The approval of Alzheimer’s drugs with questionable efficacy has sparked debate about the balance between innovation and patient safety.
  7. Impact of Healthcare Policies:
    • Concern: Changes in healthcare policies, such as Medicare coverage and prescription drug plans, directly impact baby boomers’ access to affordable medications.
    • Example: Discussions around allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices are particularly relevant to older adults.

    • Integrative Approach: Essential oils can be used alongside conventional medical treatments as part of an integrative healthcare approach, potentially enhancing the effectiveness of traditional treatments and reducing the need for higher doses or additional medications.
While Young Living products can offer various health benefits, it’s essential for baby boomers to use them safely and in consultation with healthcare professionals, especially if they have existing medical conditions or are taking other medications.  I became a young living member in Oct of 2015.  My husband was getting ready to retire, and we were about to lose our health coverage.  I wanted something other then having to depend on the medical industry.   I discovered young living  and never looked back!!  I have saved me and my family thousands of dollars and countless hours in dr. And pharmacy  visits .   I knew not every event that happens requires a dr visit, and I wanted to know how I can reduce those visits and save some money.
I don't consider myself a medical professional, but, I do know how to read and look up information  and  after discovering some tools and books to look thru I discovered the magical powers of young living essential oils.   Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on posion ivy medication for my husband,  I opened a book, looked up what I can use for posion ivy, followed the directions and we were both amazed at the results!
Then I started looking for ways to sleep better, have less anxiety, make my home beyond beyond fresh and clean  and save a lot of time and money.   We now are a family that supports the systems of our bodies instead of reacting to preventable events! We learned how to support our immune systems before the pandemic hit, and made it thru that season without so much as a sniffle!
I believe once you get started using these safe, chemical free, nontoxic products you won't go back to using the toxic stuff.
You will feel so empowered protecting your home and family from all the "yuk" out there!  I want you to learn how to take back control of your health and wellness  so you won't panic over any "bug" going around out there.  We look forward to helping you on your journey  to health and wellness!
