A little introduction!
Hello,
My name is Amanda Wilkison.  I am a working mom (elementary teacher) of a teenaged daughter and a tween son with ADHD.  I am new to the blogging world and honestly, hope to keep up with everything else on my plate, but know how overwhelming parenting can be and just wanted to create a space to share with other moms going through those tough years and trying to do the best by their families.  

Here are some things that I love to share about:

1️⃣ Living a low-tox life style.  Just as we are often concerned about our children's sleep, eating habits and milestones, I think it is equally important to think about what we clean our houses with, what we put on their bodies (lotions, body washes etc) as well as what we give as far as support for immune systems, cough and cold and body pain.  I am not anti-traditional medicine, as I mentioned, my son has ADHD and is medicated, but I also think there are many natural alternatives for less complex issues that are healthier for their young, growing bodies.  🌿

2️⃣  Self-Care.  I don't mean going away for a spa retreat every other weekend, what I mean is taking care of ourselves so we actually have something to give (I know you have heard it before, but it is true, You Cannot Pour From an Empty Cup!).  Self-care in the form of setting boundaries, learning to let some things go, learning to say no, making time for yourself, asking for help when needed and more so that we don't burn out!!

3️⃣ The struggles of parenthood. I love being a mom, I wouldn't change it for the world, but I also acknowledge and won't sugar coat the hard parts of parenthood.  I share the ups and downs of raising a teenager and an ADHD tween boy and often try to do so with humour (because sometimes if you don't laugh, you might cry 😂), but also with some words of wisdom from someone in your shoes.  Many of these stories are found on my IG @happy_healthy_oiled.

Hi there! I'm Amanda, a health and wellness enthusiast. As a busy mother of two, I understand the challenges of balancing the demands of full-time work (I am an elementary school teacher) and motherhood. When I became a mom, I wanted nothing more than to provide a safe and nurturing environment for my children. However, I quickly realized the alarming number of harmful chemicals and toxins present in everyday products and the challenges of finding time to care for my own health.

Driven by the desire to protect my children and give them the best start in life, I embarked on a journey to find safer alternatives and learn how to fill my own cup. Along the way I discovered the incredible power of Young Living essential oils and their wide range of natural and effective products. Not only did these products support the wellbeing of my family, but they also helped me learn the importance of taking care of myself as well. It also led me to a new passion, learning as much as I coud about natural wellness and sharing it with other moms. Don't get me wrong, we are still users of the medical system and eat foods that are tasty and not always the most healthy, but we try very hard to live as healthy as possible to be preventative, rather than reactive.

Now I am on a mission to share and support other women just like me. I believe that everyone deserves access to safe and natural solutions that enhance their family's physical and emotional well-being. Through my blog, classes, email campaigns, personalized consultations, and support, I strive to help other moms find the same peace of mind and confidence in their choices.
