8.  “But I buy the “green cleaning products”

Yep!!  That was me!!  I thought I was doing better by buying the more expensive “green” cleaners from the grocery store.

What I didn’t know is that cleaners can absolutely be labeled “natural” or “organic” and can still contain formaldehyde and arsenic because those are NATURAL.  Those green cleaners are the same as the bottle next to it.  The company just labeled it differently, added some lavender scent and charged $2.00 more.

I don’t know about you but I felt way better about buying that one than the one next to it!! Ignorance was bliss for me for sure!

7.   How can all this be?? Aren’t there Federal agencies looking out for our best interests??

The last time that the federal safety law was updated was 1976!!!

Not sure about you guys but that was before I was born!!  So think about how much the chemical game has changed in the past 40 YEARS!!

No one is looking at this stuff guys.  If we aren’t looking out for ourselves, no one will!

The FDA is the same company that labels Flaming Hot Cheetos as safe for consumption (before I cleaned up my lifestyle I was literally obsessed with those things!!!).  Ever had to bring your child to the ER for a stomach issue?  One of the first questions they’ll ask is if the child consumed Flaming Hot Cheetos!!  They’re so directly linked to digestive issues that it’s on the triage sheet!!!

If that’s considered ok to consume in their eyes, I’m pretty sure I have no trust in their opinion.

6.   Researches have linked phthalates to asthma, ADHD, breast cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes, low IQ, neurodevelopmental issues, autism spectrum disorders, altered reproductive development and male fertility issues.

The fact that 99% of pregnant women are found to have them, means that we aren't exactly setting up our new little sweeties with the best options. This fact in and of itself makes me want to change everything I do to provide the best for my babies.

I know when I saw this fact not long ago, I made a vow to step up my game a little more. I've started the whole "oh once won't kill us".....but I'm starting to think otherwise!! 😳😳

  • 5.  I like my life simple.  It’s not an easy thing to accomplish, but I’ll take simplicity where I can get it, and household cleaners is an area where that can happen.

If for no other reason but to have a cabinet under my sink to use for other purposes, I use ONE BOTTLE to clean EVERY SURFACE IN MY HOUSE.  Seriously.  And it WORKS!!! And SMELLS AMAAAZZZING!!

Frankly, I've never been a "clean freak".  I sort of wish I was....but it's not in my DNA.  If I had to use every one of these other bottles, I just wouldn’t do it!  But I grab one bottle, which contains a capful of Thieves household Cleaner and water, and walk around my house cleaning counters, bathtubs, toilets, mirrors, windows, dusting…..

It's sort of fun to do....I tend to clean so much more!  "oh! that light switch is smudged? squirt!  Oh! that wall has a spot where George INSISTS on rubbing his body along the wall , squirt!"

Ya know, all the random stuff I'd normally just walk right by because I didn't have "the right" cleaner for that job.

Who here uses this awesomness in a bottle already?? Tell me what you think of it!!

4.  I’m going to get into the dirty details, but before I do, I just want you to know there’s a better alternative!!

This is not one of those times where someone lists out all the horrible things we do every day and then moves on with their life without giving you a better SOLUTION.

We can take steps to a healthier life together.  I definitely still have areas of my life that aren’t as clean as I’d like them to be, and I learn more every single day.  One of my favorite things to do is help other people clean up their lives too!

Personally I’m not a DIYer.  I’m just not.  I totally admire people who make their own stuff.  It’s not my deal.  I have tons of friends who make their own household products from scratch in order to know exactly what is going into them.  I frankly don’t have the patience and have never found recipes that actually worked.  (Aannnd hubby ran out of patience with the non-working slime I was trying to get him to use around the house :D )

My research has clearly pointed me to Young Living as a company that I can trust.  I love this company – they own their own fields, have the highest standards for purity and even invite people in to see their processes!  I’ll be going to Utah to see their Lavender fields and how they create their amazing products next summer.  I CANNOT wait!

A lot of people think that Young Living is just about essential oils.  DEFINITELY not the case.  They do infuse that goodness into most, if not all of their products, but if you’re looking to easily make a switch into healthier alternatives in your home, they’ve got you covered with a healthier version of the products we’re going to talk about tonight.

I use as many Young Living products as I possibly can.  Their essential oils have rocked my world – allowing my family to be happy, healthy and stay above the wellness line.  Like for real, a whole new lifestyle!  (and I don’t go to Target as much, so I don't buy a bunch of other random stuff I don't need..... so my pocketbook is happy too!)

So in this world of dark secrets, lies, and closed doors, I trust Young Living with the well being of my family.
