Energy...you are what you eat.

So last week we were making the simple action of write down what we were eating and label it.

Did you do that?

Did you like what you saw?

So, this week, we are going to focus on adding one fruit or vegetable to your DAILY menu.

It can be as simple as an apple, banana as a snack.  They hold lots of vitamins and help aid in healthy digestion.

Or it could be more complex like adding a non-starch veggie side to a meal.

Here is a great easy recipe that is a family favorite in our house.

Honey Green Beans:

2 lbs of garden fresh green beans. We will use frozen, when they are out of season.
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup of butter

Add all of the ingredients to a medium pot on the stove. Warm on medium heat until butter is melted and beans are no longer crisp and enjoy!

This simple easy recipe take 10-15 minutes and are with ingredients I normally have on hand.

Let us know what you added to your daily diet that was colorful. We want to know!

Do you want fresh green beans all summer long? Start growing some now, so you have some to freeze to eat through the long cold winter!
