This month, my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe those crazy kids who said, “I do” all those years ago are now celebrating 40 years of marriage. We’ve been through so much over those 40 years; raising three children into wonderful adults, growing into our careers, supporting each others hobbies and passions, struggling to make ends meet, creating a home our kids love to come back to, and finally getting to retire.
It wasn’t always easy, but we always found our way through the hard times, by holding on to each other, at times, holding each other up. And loving each other, always.
I’m proud of the life we’ve built together. I’m proud of the example we’ve set for our kids and grandchild. They can see the love and respect we have for each other and that makes me happy.
I feel so blessed to have someone in my life who loves me so much, someone I can share my life with, be my true self with, be silly with, laugh with, and cry with. Someone who knows me so well, all my good and not so good, even irritating habits, and still loves me anyway.
I know that I am one of the lucky ones and I thank God every day that we have each other. No one knows what the future will bring, but I do know that having this man by my side makes life more fun and definitely more interesting! I am so grateful to be walking through this life together with him. Here's hoping for more Harmony and Joy as we look forward to our next 40 years!
