Now that Mother’s Day has come and gone, it’s time to start thinking about the men in our lives. I lost my father 5 years ago, and I miss him more every day. My father had the special kind of love and he would do anything for me and my siblings. He was a man of wisdom and he would give us great advice when we needed it. After my mother passed away, he needed more care so we would drive him to appointments, make him meals or just sit and talk to him about life. He loved going out to eat and many times when we went out together, he insisted on paying for our meal. He was that kind of man, always thinking of others. One of my fondest memories was that every Thursday night I would take him a meal. We would sit together for a few hours talking, watching the news and his favorite TV show, Wheel of Fortune. Oh, how I wish I could relive those times again. He truly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He instilled in us good values and taught us that life is short and to enjoy every moment.
