So I was 17 when I was in a parasailing accident that left a huge gash in my forehead. I don’t remember the initial impact but the damage was intense.
wIthin a month of my accident I gained 30 pounds (where weight gain had never ever been an issue for me).
I remember being able to zip a pair of jeans easily at the beginning of the month and by the end I couldn’t even get them up.. nothing had changed, except my head injury.
My body after about a year normalized itself.. the weight finally dropped off and I seemed back to normal…
Until I got engaged and started birth control.
I took birth control for 3 months total and it's 3 months I wished I could take back.
Unknowingly I triggered my head injury, I put a toxic, heavy load on my pituitary gland, adrenals and liver.
It took me years to realize what the root was. That's the thing, its not always just one thing.. it's a building effect.
Between my head injury, birth control, toxic beauty and household products I was using all the time, my body chose to shut down.
For me that looked like:
Extreme weight gain (with nothing in my habits changing).
Depression that got worse with each year.
Anxiety that made going out in public an overwhelming chore.
I was a constant PMSing dragon.
I wanted to crawl out of my skin.
Brain fog.
Low sex drive.
Extreme hunger + exhaustion where breathing felt too much.
I literally had every symptom of menopause except I still had my period at the age of 20, the doctors were baffled at what was going on.
To say the first few years of our marriage were rough is an understatement. My husband felt like I tricked him into marrying him because I was that different.
Thankfully I have found the root causes, I have found my hormone toolbox and I actually like being around me!
I am so on fire to educate so you don’t have to have as many wasted years as I.
