In the Bible, there was a mention of these four essential oils that were used or offered to Jesus before, during, and after the crucifixion. These oils were Spikenard, Hyssop, Aloes or Sandalwood, and Myrrh. If you know the cultural background and the traditional uses of these oils during the Biblical time, such knowledge will enrich your understanding of these scriptures that are usually read during the Easter week. It will take the meaning of these Biblical passages to a whole new level, and I promise you that looking at it with a whole new perspective will bring such joy and blessing to you.
1. Hyssop Oil
The fragrance of hyssop oil stimulates creativity and meditation. During the ancient Biblical times, it was used for purification from sins, addictions, and destructive habits. People of the Old Testament believed that the scent of hyssop can also repel evil spirits and is therefore used for spiritual cleansing.
" . . . Jesus said, "I am thirsty. A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." - John 19:28-30

2. Spikenard Oil
The aroma of spikenard oil is soothing, calming, and relaxing. In the ancient times, it is an oil used as a perfume, an incense, and a skin tonic.
"Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus' honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure Spikenard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume." - John 12: 1-3

3. Aloes or Sandalwood Oil
The fragrance of sandalwood is spiritually uplifting and it can help let go of fear. During the Biblical times, this was used for meditation, and the oil of choice for embalming and burial of the royalty. This is an expensive oil and has been used for centuries to nourish the skin.
"Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jews. With Pilate's permission, he came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes (sandalwood), about 75 pounds." - John 19:38-39

4. Myrrh Oil
Myrrh oil is the most mentioned oil in the Bible, about 156 times. People during the Biblical times used this oil during childbirth to promote calmness and relaxation. Mothers used this oil to anoint their newborn to elevate their wellness, and protect them from generational curses.
"They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). Theyn they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. And they crucified him." - Mark 15:22-23

For us to enjoy the essence of these essential oils, the plants have to be cut, bruised, mashed, pressed, and distilled.
Jesus was crushed, cut, broken, and bruised … and by his wounds we are healed. The essence of these aromatic plants promote physical wellbeing, spiritual uplifting, and emotional balance. Our ultimate physical, spiritual, and emotional healing comes from the essence of Jesus Christ. I will end with this verse:
"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed four our inequities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wound we are healed."
- Isaiah 53:5

With all the stress and crazies brought by all the current news, I want to share my three tips to give you and your loved ones a dose of a happy and healthy immune system. #boostnaturally
1. THIEVES Everything!
Don't ask - just trust me on this - THIEVES everything! Diffuse it, apply it topically, take it as a supplement, clean everything with it, brush your teeth with it, soap your body with it, mouth wash it … you get my point. Just Thieves everything.
So, do you know the Legend of Thieves? According to Gary Young, there are more than 15 different versions of the legend of Thieves. This one is my favorite:
During the 15th century the Black Plague happened in Asia and Europe, killing 75 to 200 million people. The spice merchants used their knowledge in aromatic spices and whipped up a concoction as a defense against the plague. They then robbed the dead and the dying, and managed to survive. When they got captured, they were presented to the King, which offered them a lighter punishment if they reveal their secret spice remedy. The secret recipe was shared throughout the kingdom. It is from this recipe where the Thieves essential oil recipe was based on. Such an interesting tale!
Thieves essential oil blend contains Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils. This most amazing blend has many uses. Check out Young Living's whole Thieves product line!
2. RED Up!
Our family begins our day with a 2-oz shot of Ningxia Red, aka our "liquid supplement". This powerful antioxidant drink is packed with the super fruit puree of wolfberry, plus the juice and extracts of plum, aronia, cherry, blueberry, and pomegranate. The addition of Lemon, Orange, Yuzu, and Tangerine essential oils to this great-tasting treat, make this a powerful healthy drink to support your overall wellness. To a busy mom like me, this is the easiest way to offer my family a high nutrient-densed superfood that support our energy levels, normalize cell function, and boost our immune systems. RED Up everyone!
3. DIFFUSE the Situation!
If you have been to any of my essential oil classes, I'm sure you heard me say "Don't ever underestimate the power of diffusing essential oils." Diffusing essential oils in a cold-air diffuser atomize oil molecules into super microfine mist, where they can stay suspended in the air for several hours. Inhaling diffused oils like Lavender or Stress Away oil can relax the body, clear the mind, and balance your emotions. Diffusing Peppermint, Lemon, or Thieves oil can help purify the air of unpleasant odors, and help rid your home or workplace of unwanted yucky stuff in the air. As you can see, diffusing essential oils bring powerful benefits. Be sure to diffuse your favorite oil everyday!
Diffuser Recipe #1:
3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
5 drops Citrus Fresh Essential Oil
Diffuser Recipe #2:
3 drops Lemon essential oil

Tip: You can easily convert this into a Wellness Roll On by adding three times the amount of essential oils in the recipe into a 10ml Roll On bottle, and top it with a carrier oil. #diygirl

Hey there! I taught a Wellness Class the other day and our topic was "Good 'Til The Last Drop - Healthy Cooking With Oils". We discussed basic guidelines in cooking with Young Living's Vitality essential oils, and talked about healthier substitutes for salt and sugar. Yes, we learned some pretty cool alternatives to white refined sugar (please avoid this poison as much as you can!!!). I prepared my homemade healthy chocolate bar to share in the class, and everyone loved it, loved it, loved it!!! Many of you have asked me for the recipe since I posted about this on Facebook … so here it is. Enjoy my homemade healthy, sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, keto-friendly, protein packed, oil-infused chocolate. #guiltfree
Homemade (Healthy) Sugar-Free Chocolate
Ingredients:
1 cup organic coconut oil
1 cup peanut butter or almond butter (or half cup of each, but if it's in your budget go for the almond butter)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup organic coconut flour
5 teaspoons Swerve natural sweetener or Monkfruit sweetener or 1/2 teaspoon of Stevia
a pinch of pink Himalayan salt
1/4 to 1/2 cup of your preferred nuts like almond, hazelnut, walnut, macadamia etc (optional)
Directions:
Add coconut oil and almond butter to a small saucepan over medium heat until melted. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients, then add to the almond butter mixture and stir to blend all ingredients well.
Pour into a silicone baking mold, and place in freezer overnight.
Transfer to the fridge the next day. Enjoy!!!
