Self-confidence is all about how much we believe in ourselves, and it's a big deal for how we see the world and ourselves. It's not just about feeling good about ourselves; it's about how we think we can handle what life throws at us.
It's like this: when we think we can do something well, we're more likely to give it a shot and not give up so easily. But when we doubt ourselves, we're more likely to avoid challenges or feel bad about not succeeding.
How we see ourselves and the way we explain our successes and failures also plays a part in how confident we feel. If we think we have control over what happens to us, we're more likely to feel confident. But if we think things happen because of luck or things we can't control, we might not feel so good about ourselves. We are destined for more. Whatever progress you take is better than no progress.
Understanding how self-confidence works helps us see that it's not just about feeling good—it's about how we think and what we believe about ourselves. By learning more about how confidence works, we can figure out ways to feel better about ourselves and believe in our abilities more. This can help us tackle challenges and go after what we want with more courage and determination.
I use to think saying affirmation was strange, but it is an amazing practice!. Try it out and see. They can be short or long. Say to yourself “I’m smart” I’ve got goals” “I am amazing”. How much better do you feel? Now, go back to what you normally say to yourself, do you notice a difference in how you feel? Is your body tenser?
