As we approach Easter this weekend, I would love to share one of my favorite recipes! Have you ever made your own English Muffins? I have been making these for about a year and love them! We make an entire batch, slice them and toss them in the freezer. They are very easy to make and you will never buy store bought English muffins again. I guarantee it.
Start Easter breakfast off with a beautiful Ham and Egg muffin sandwhich or spread some cream cheese and jam on a toasted muffin. You will fall in love. I cannot eat gluten and have not been able to for years but I have been able to eat this Sunrise Mill Flour without any tummy aches or bloating and it feels so good to eat a healthy grain that is processed like grains from long ago. I know the weather is 78 one day here in southern Wisconsin and 32 the next. It’s typical whip lash weather here lately. Yesterday I had my flip flops on and today I had a jacket and gloves. BUT Spring is on the way and I always encourage you to prepare for the next season.

Recently Jim and I were traveling and we always pack yummy healthy snacks. I grabbed a bag of organic apples and admittedly I did not wash them. December has arrived with a snowy bang for us here in Southern Wisconsin. We have had more snow here in the past two weeks than we had all of last winter! I know I am not the norm, but I love the quiet and slowness of winter. The cold weather and warm food are part of what makes it magical.

Here is one of my favorite recipes that is so fun to make around the holidays. You can use GF flour or regular. It was served to us 8 kids by my mom when we were young. We thought it was a fancy treat as it puffed up in the oven and looked like a magic trick. In all honesty, she probably made it as a way to make the grocery bill stretch feeding so many of us. We sprinkled it with powdered sugar but since I do not eat processed sugar anymore, pure maple syrup has been just as good. Let me know if you try it!

Facts about Young Living Sacred Frankincense you may not know.....
Do you know that Young Living oils are safe for babies and pets too? All kinds of pets like horses and cats and dogs and yes even goats and cows and then some.
My grand-babies have been slathered with oils, all kinds and many drops since the moment they breathed their first breath. Yep, I was present at their births in their homes and we put Frankincense on them the minute they were born! (Literally).
Why you ask?
Because Frankincense is the #1 oil for emotional trauma. (It’s traumatic being born) Yep, if you have experienced trauma of any kind, use it daily on the back of your brain stem or on your feet if you don’t like the smell. It’s November and the chill has definitely hit the air here in southern Wisconsin. Whether the weather near you is warm or cold, wellness should always be in your daily routine!

If you have been around Young Living for any length of time you know that Christmas Spirit oil blend is a winter favorite. I have made a tradition of diffusing it daily from November through the end of January. If you know me, I always encourage you to diffuse single oils for cost effectiveness so you can diffuse daily not only to keep your home smelling amazing but for the health benefits of diffusing as well. But when it comes to the holidays I can’t help but diffuse Christmas Spirit. You can get a 15ml of this seasonal blend during the month of November on Loyalty! This blend contains Orange oil which is a great inexpensive oil for beautiful skin and sleep. It’s calming to the mind and the scent evokes a sense of peace.
It also contains Cinnamon Bark which is known to be the oil of wealth from the orient. Emperors of China measured their wealth partly with the amount of Cinnamon they possessed. It’s highly antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. And lastly this blend contains Spruce oil to help support the respiratory and nervous system. It’s anti-infectious and antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Its aromatic scent is known to open and release emotional blocks to bring about emotional balance.
The scent of Christmas Spirit brings about a sense of security. It’s a beautiful thing all year around.
Exodus II. This oil may go out of stock quickly. It only comes around during the Holidays and is known for being protective against virus’. It is widely used since 2020 for a DIY nose salve to protect you from airborn yuck while traveling or flying. It can be warm on the skin due to the oils in the blend so it’s recommended to use with a carrier oil unless your using it on your feet. It is only available on Loyalty this month.

When I was growing up, my mom read health books daily and followed two health channels on the tv. Both were well known health professionals and one was a doctor who had been a western medicine doctor until he became very ill (if I remember correctly it was cancer) and he cured himself with natural protocols and went into natural medicine to treat the whole body and not just the symptoms. Myth: All essential oils are created equal.
A growing number of companies have started selling essential oils as they have increased in popularity. Unfortunately, with increased EO popularity comes increased EO adulteration. Demand simply exceeds supply, so suppliers must extend their supply through various methods.
Roughly a year ago I shared GC-MS reports from a colleague that showed many companies are selling adulterated essential oils. Some EO chemists and aromatherapists were quick to dismiss the reports because the analyses used trans-furano-linalool oxide acetate as a marker for lavender EO adulteration. These individuals argued that this constituent was not currently an accepted marker for lavender EO adulteration. However, suppliers are becoming more sophisticated in their adulteration methods meaning that novel constituents will continue to be identified as adulteration markers.
Researchers from one of the most respected botanical and natural product organizations in the world, the National Center for Natural Products Research, performed a detailed chemometric analysis of 72 lavender essential oil samples (13 authentic, 32 commercial, and 27 unidentified) and published the study this year. They found that 23 of the 59 unidentified/commercial samples did not meet the composition of lavender EO according to ISO standards. In addition, they concluded that some of the samples that met the ISO standard contained trans-furano-linalool oxide acetate, which is indeed “an indicator of synthetic compound adulteration in [lavender]EO.” Based on their detailed analysis, the NCNPR determined that between 25% and 90% of commercial lavender EO samples are adulterated.

A good rule of thumb is if an oil is far less expensive than others (e.g. $7.99 for a 15 mL lavender EO) it is likely poor quality or adulterated. Purchase EOs from reputable companies that provide a GC-MS analysis of each batch of EO they sell.

Peppermint is a holiday favorite flavor and I have a recipe that I think many of you will love. Especially if you are watching your sugars and want a healthier treat for you and your guests. I have made these for years and I have never yet had anyone not enjoy them!
When you don’t eat sugar but need a sweet fix, these are a wonderful snack to grab out of the freezer! This batch doesn’t have the top layer of chocolate on them yet but it’s coming soon after this post and they will be gone quick as a flash after they set! They are that good!
Does anyone remember mint peppermint patties? Yes, this is a healthy version of that but you wouldn’t know it!

I actually cut the raw honey in half and they are still oh so sweet!

3 Tbs coconut oil
1/4 cup raw honey
1 Tsp coconut flour
Bag of Lilly’s Chocolate chips or any chocolate of choice
20 drops YL Peppermint vitality
Mix the coconut oil, honey, coconut flour and peppermint together until creamy. (I put 10 drops in the filling and 10 drops in the chocolate base!
Melt chocolate and put small amount into muffin cups, freeze for 10 minutes! Place small amount of peppermint filling into the cooled cups and top with remaining melted chocolate and freeze for another 10 minutes. You can store them in the freezer or fridge! I would double the batch because they won’t last! 😋
Peppermint is oh so good to help support a healthy digestive system, reduce inflammation and sooth tension and discomfort in your belly!

Have you tried the Simplified line of oils? They are wonderful for diffusing and I even use them topically.
