Getting Back to Basics!
The past 3 months have been difficult. I was found to have some calcium build-up in 2 arteries and my A1C is still not low enough. My cardiologist put me on a series of statin drugs with which I did not do well. I quit taking them. Then my general practitioner perscribed  2  different drugs to lower my blood sugar. Again I did not do well with either one. So after suffering from what I feel was close to a migraine from one of the blood sugar medicines, I decided it was time to get back to the basics. No more drugs for me. I began  with my oils....MGrain and Stress Away for my headache plus Seasonal Essentials for my allergies. I also used some Palo Santo outside my ears to help with the headache. I applied the Mgrain and Stress Away every hour till the headache subsided. I also took a class on lowering my A1C naturally. I did discover several  low carb or Keto  foods that I thought were blood sugar friendly were actually raising my blood sugar. I made some diet changes. I also dicovered that Cortisol raises blood sugar. So I am now taking Cortistop by Young Living. I am also taking Berberine which is a natural supplement that  helps lower my blood sugar.

There are drugs for Coronary Artery Disease that do not have side effects. But the drug my doctor called in was $178 and not covered by my insurance. So my doctor is making an appeal to Blue Cross because I cannot take statin drugs. In the meatime I am taking a supplement called Cardiogize which has Vitamin K and K2 which is good for my arteries. Fortunately my calcium buildup is low and not dangerous.

Getting back to basics for me is moving away from some synthetic drugs and embracing  more natural supplements. I talk with so many people who are taking synthetic drugs and really do not feel good. For some reason they do not ask for an alternative or are to afraid to treat it naturally. Sometimes getting back to basics means starting over and assing how you feel. Are there any changes you can make to enhance your health?  Maybe it is time for you to get back to basics....

I learned how to enjoy life over 50......

Turning 40 was a magical age for me. I was at an age where life was easy. I enjoyed scrapbooking and crafting with my friends, homeschooling my son and serving alongside my husband in our local church. Even though I was overweight I looked good and felt good. But within a few short years my health changed dramatically. I developed respiratory issues, pelvic pain, and a chronic disorder characterized by “widespread muscle pain with fatigue and tenderness”.  Occasional anxiety set in. My decline really affected my ability to be creative, to minister effectively in my church and to function at home.

I suffered through a hysterectomy and many doctors visits. A change in seasons would send me in a painful roller coaster of antibiotics and steroids. Spending a whole day in bed became normal.  Age 50 came quickly with no lasting solutions.

Eventually I began to explore and research natural remedies. Something I was not taught in my younger years was lifestyle.  I considered that maybe my lifestyle was contributing to my health issues and my emotions.

One day I was venting my frustration to a friend who had been battling some of  the same chronic issues. We talked about some of the natural solutions I had read about. One of the  solutions she had used and had some great results with. I became instantly interested.

That is when my real life changing journey began. I found a solution that has contributed to a healthy lifestyle and brought about the quality of life I was looking for.  It is my mission to share with mature women, how to embrace the enjoyment of life over 50.
