Born to be an Optimist!

Born to be an Optimist!
At least learn how to be one!
There's something to be said about being born an optimist.

But even if it's not in our DNA, it's never too late to start cultivating a brighter outlook. Being mindful of our thoughts and actions are key to developing a more positive attitude. Because how we think and act shows our character to the world.

So let's choose to see the glass as half full and look for the silver lining. Let's choose to focus on the good in people and situations.

Let's choose to believe that things will work out in the end.

Minerals and Pregnancy

Minerals and Pregnancy
Blog Title: Mineral and Pregnancy: What You Need to Know

When you are pregnant, it’s important to make sure that you’re getting enough of the necessary minerals and salts in your diet. Not only do these vital nutrients help keep your body functioning properly, but they also help your baby grow and develop. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the importance of mineral salts during pregnancy and why it’s important for new moms-to-be to make sure they’re getting enough.

What are Minerals ?
Minerals are a combination of essential minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, and sodium. These minerals help regulate your body's water balance, nerve function, muscle contraction, and other processes that occur naturally in the body. During pregnancy, it is especially important to make sure you get enough mineral because they play an important role in fetal development.
For example, calcium helps with bone growth while potassium helps with fluid balance. The body needs adequate amounts of these minerals to stay healthy during pregnancy.
How Much Minerals Do I Need?
The amount of mineral that you need depends on how many weeks pregnant you are. M and your own personalized lifestyle and emotional well-being. Generally speaking, pregnant women should aim to get between 1-2 grams of mineral per day during the first trimester and 2-3 grams per day during the second trimester. If you don’t think you’re getting enough from your diet alone then it might be beneficial to supplement with a mineral supplement.
Where Can I Get Minerals?  The best way to get mineral is through food sources such as dairy products like milk cream or yogurt; vegetables like spinach or kale or green bell pepper; grains like quinoa or oats; legumes like chickpeas or lentils; nuts like almonds or walnuts; and seeds like chia seeds or flaxseeds.  Also grass feed  red meats. If these foods aren't accessible for you then there are also supplements ask me which is my favorite that can provide adequate amounts of essential minerals for pregnant women.

Super B (300PV) Super B is a B complex supplement that is great for maintaining healthy energy levels, supporting mood, heart health and mental clarity. Our current lifestyles often leave our adrenal system (our fight or flight response) on overdrive, and B vitamins are a great way to give them some TLC!

    • Anyone struggling mentally and emotionally, a deficiency can be linked to many anxious, exhausted, dark feelings and thoughts.
    • Anyone who struggles with anemia, is pregnant, or doesn't eat a strong whole food diet. While we DO NOT need folic acid which is all over our processed foods and grains, we do need folate which is what you will find in this whole-food supplement.

Charcoal Mask (190PV Loyalty Rewards orders)
  • When you're pampering and detoxing your skin with a mask, the last thing you should have to worry about is harsh, synthetic ingredients!! Made with Tahitian volcanic black sand to gently exfoliate for softer, glowing skin, activated charcoal and a blend of ethically sourced kaolin clays, this mask will lift dirt and oil, purify pores, detox skin, and help restore the appearance of an even skin tone.
  • For oily, combination, and normal skin:
    • Cleanse face with a gentle, non-irritating cleanser; then apply a thin layer of the mask to clean face and allow the mask to harden for 5–20 minutes. Once the mask has changed color and is hard, rinse with warm water to remove. Avoid the eye area, nostrils, and lips. Follow with the rest of your skin care routine, including moisturizer to rehydrate. Use 1–3 times per week.
  • For dry and sensitive skin:
    • Apply a thin layer of the mask to a clean face and allow the mask to harden for 5–10 minutes. Once the mask has changed color and is hard, rinse with warm water to remove. Avoid the eye area, nostrils, and lips. Your skin will likely feel dry after rinsing, so promptly follow with the rest of your skin care routine, including moisturizer to rehydrate. Use as needed or as a spot treatment.
  • Create a skincare and true self-care ritual:
    • Add a calming blend to your diffuse (Lavender, Tangerine + Patchouli is a great one!)
    • Turn on a gentle fan or space heater to make the environment comfortable.
    • Take time to wash your face, then apply the Charcoal Mask.
      • As it sits, brush and floss your teeth (10/10 recommend Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste and Dental Floss), apply some Lavender Hand & Body Lotion, or some CBD Muscle Rub to the tense areas of your neck and shoulders, drink some water, and take your Life 9 Probiotic.
      • Use warm water to remove the mask, then apply a moisturizer like CBD Beauty Boost or BLOOM or your desired moisturizer.
    • Finish with lip balm and your favorite sleep roller (Tranquil is a fan fave!).

Perfumes and Colognes!

Ditching conventional perfumes is possibly one of the most impactful things you can do for your health, but that doesn't mean you can't still smell great! Whip up your own, customized perfume with this simple recipe and change your scents with the seasons!
When it comes to making your own perfume, you will want to layer different scents to create base fragrances, mid-tones, and top notes. When you smell a perfume, the top notes are typically the first thing you smell, followed by middle and then base notes. When you are actually making the perfume, you'll want to start with base notes first and work your way up.
Base Notes: These are about 15-30% of the blend. Think heavier, warm scents like:
  • Vanilla
  • Cedarwood, Spruce and ‘tree oils'
  • Frankincense, Myrrh
  • Sandalwood, Vetiver
  • Patchouli
  • Clove, Cassia, Cinnamon
Middle Notes These should be the bulk of your blend at 30-60% and are usually full-bodied, complex, and comprise the focal point of the blend while also balancing other components.
  • Rose, Jasmine, Geranium
  • Lavender, Chamomile, Rosemary
  • Ylang ylang, Clary Sage
  • Cardamom, Ginger, Lemongrass, Black Pepper
Top Notes These should be 10-25% of your blend. These oils are sharp, uplifting, refreshing, and light to finish off the blend.
  • Peppermint, Spearmint
  • Grapefruit, Tangerine, Lemon (citrus oils)
  • Eucalyptus, Basil, Juniper
  • Pine, Sage
Choose one or two scents from each category, and combine them until you end up with a fragrance you love! Lighter recipes work well for the warmer months, while cooler months are great for deeper, spicier combinations.
If layering feels too complicated, simply follow your nose! Grab a few bottles of oil, open all of them and hold them under your nose together to get a feel for the aroma. Trust your instincts as to what you enjoy because you truly cannot go wrong!

Go get you the best quality for your safety HERE
