One of the most common sources of heavy metal exposure is contaminated water. Many regions face issues with heavy metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium in their water supply due to industrial runoff, aging pipes, or environmental pollution.
It is likely that long-term exposure to contaminated water contributed to my toxic load.
Other potential sources include:
- Certain seafood containing high levels of mercury for sure not me since I do not prefer this type of food
- Pesticides and herbicides used on conventionally grown produce, very probable but I do wash all my veggies
- Air pollution from industrial areas. for certain since I live in an area where there are lots of this!
- Household products such as aluminum-based cookware or personal care items probly not since I do not cook on these types of cookware
Beginning the Detox Process
After visiting NovaVita Ecuador, a functional medicine doctor confirmed the presence of heavy metals in my blood. I immediately took action to help my body eliminate these toxins safely and effectively. My detox process included:
Chelating IV Therapy: To jumpstart my detox, I received IV chelation therapy, which binds to heavy metals and helps the body flush them out. This is a more intensive approach and should always be done under professional guidance.
Nourishing Juices: I supported my cells with a juice blend of beets, celery, and cucumber, as well as straight lemon juice. These ingredients naturally promote detoxification and alkalize the body.
