What I love about my Young Living oils:
They taste yummy!
I love adding lemon vitality to my water every morning. It is delicious. Great way to get your day going. Who wouldn't want something yummy in their life every day? If it's delicious and good for your overall wellness, go for it!
They replaced my air freshener.
Sometimes my life is smelly. Smelly dogs, shoes, barn clothes, and of course kids. I love to diffuse Purification in my living room to make the house smell clean and fresh again.
Stress away all day!
This stuff is a must have if you're a stressed out mom like me. I seriously want to bathe in it. It smells so good, and even helps reduce nervous tension, as well as induce relaxation.
They help with focus.
Peppermint is the best way to get in some good study time. The smell helps promote focus and clarity, as well as support a healthy nervous system.
They support a healthy immune system
Thieves is pretty much the best for supporting healthy immune function, which makes me a huge fan. What mom doesn't find themselves in need of this oil especially when the school year hits? It also smells like Christmas, which is a bonus because I love Christmas.
They relieve occasional muscle soreness/tension
Panaway is a god send after a long day of horseback riding. It makes for a tension relieving massage oil, and I could not love it more.
They smell like the spa
With lavender, I get to bring the spa home with me. It's one of my favorite ways to help the family unwind before bed because it smells amazing, and it calms everyone down after a long day.
They support your body.
Copaiba supports your body's natural response to injury or irritation; two things that are common in my life.
They are pretty.
I am a sucker for pretty things, and these oils just speak to my soul. The diffuser is not something I ever feel like I need to hide, and I proudly display it on my counters or shelves so everyone can see them. There's nothing ugly about these bottles of goodness and I love that!
There you have it my friends. These are just a few reasons why I love Young Living oils so much. There's a thousand more reasons but they simply wouldn't fit in one post. Every day I am learning more about wellness and I love it. These oils are changing my life and my family’s, and I am so glad I could share with you why I love them so much.
I’m sure you’ve seen lotion bar or massage bars in stores, but it turns out that they are surprisingly simple to make at home. They can be used for lotion on pretty well any part of the body or as an alternative to massage oil. Here is the recipe for homemade lavender lotion bars.
Lavender Lotion Bars
1/2 c beeswax
1/2 c shea butter
1/2 c sweet almond oil
15 drops lavender essential oil
1/2 c shea butter
1/2 c sweet almond oil
15 drops lavender essential oil
In a double boiler (or small pot in a larger pot of water), melt grated beeswax and oil until combined.
Add shea butter and stir just until melted with a metal or plastic utensil. Do not overheat.
Immediately pour into molds of your choosing.
Add essential oils and stir with a toothpick.
Allow to set at room temperature for a couple hours or in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Pop ’em out and enjoy.

If you can’t find them in store, all of these ingredients can be purchased at Essential 7.
These lavender lotion bars are very emollient. Shea butter is especially nourishing and moisturizing, and it can be used to treat a myriad of skin problems. The sweet almond oil soothes muscles and even promotes healing. Lavender essential oil adds a relaxing aromatherapy component as well as its healing properties. These bars soak into the skin well with no sticky residue or greasiness.
It will be fun to experiment with different scents from essential oils and add-ins such as coffee or other types of dry beans. Winter and extra-handwashing have made my hands super dry. I love having these on display/ready to grab near the soap on our bathroom sinks and in my purse for a quick grab. Not to mention a cute gift!
We all have long days and it can be stressful. The best way to unwind at night and heal those achy muscles is by using this No Sew Lavender Heat Pad.
I absolutely love the scent of Lavender and all the healing benefits that come with Lavender Essential Oils are even better. Whenever I have an achy neck, shoulders, legs or tummy I reach for my heat pad but really get no relief from it. Since I get no relief I ventured out to make a more beneficial one using Lavender and rice. Rice is great for a heat pad source because it’s soft on your muscles and can really form around those curves. I took a pair of baby leggings, some baker’s twine, some rice and lavender essential oil and made the best No Sew Lavender Heat Pad ever!
Supplies Needed:
- 4 Cups of long grain white rice
- Baby Leggings
- Baker’s Twine
- Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
Directions:
Grab a pair of baby leggings and tie off one end with your baker’s twine. Be sure to tie it and knot it a minimum of 3 times so it doesn’t break open with hours of use. In a small mixing bowl pour in your 4 cups of rice and add about 10 drops of lavender essential oil to your rice. Mix it up well. Using your spoon, spoon in your mixture to fill up the baby legging and once it’s near the top close it off and tie with the other piece of baker’s twine. That’s it. Now to use these as heat pads all you have to do is place in the microwave for 1 minute with a small cup of water. After the minute is up they’ll be warm to the touch and can be place on numerous parts of your body! Enjoy!
So you’re ready to take advantage of your Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils with a home diffuser? Great. But if you’re like many, when you browse the diffuser options, it can be a little confusing. So many diffusers to choose from! Atomizing, ultrasonic, USB… and the list goes on. So which is best for you?
The Two Basic Types
Before we dive into diffuser details, understand that there are two main types of diffusers: Those that dispense undiluted essential oils into the air (atomizing also called nebulizing), and those that use water as part of the process (ultrasonic or wick based).
Ultrasonic (Water) Diffusers
These are less expensive, but don’t pack the therapeutic punch the atomizing versions do. An ultrasonic diffuser (such as the Home Diffuser) sends a cool mist into the air. The water droplets in the mist are coated with essential oil. No heat is used in the process, so the essential oils are protected. However, due to minor dilution, the therapeutic impact of the oils are affected. Ultrasonic diffusers are also nice for dry climates. Even though they technically aren’t humidifiers, moisture is still being added into the air.
Atomizing Diffusers
These are also called nebulizing diffusers. The atomizing technology transforms essential oils into a vapor of millions of microparticles, dispersing them into the air and releasing the powerful plant constituents found in Young Living essential oils. This is the best diffusion method for reaping the therapeutic benefits of an oil. The downside of these models is that they go through oils much faster. You typically will not run one as long as you would an ultrasonic model.
The Young Living Aroma Lux Diffuser
This is an atomizing diffuser designed by Gary Young, so it’s completely unique to Young Living. The AromaLux™ diffuserfeatures various timers and diffusion modes. If you want to diffuse your own combinations of oils, this one is more difficult as it works by placing the Young Living oil jar directly into the diffuser. It accepts both 5-ml and 15-ml jars.
The Young Living Home Diffuser
This is an ultrasonic diffuser. Its technology breaks any mixture of essential oils and water into millions of microparticles, disperses them into the air, and activates the powerful plant constituents found in Young Living essential oils. The Home Diffuser feature constant or alternating diffusion. The light can also be turned off.
The Young Living Bamboo Diffuser
This is an ultrasonic diffuser that’s very similar to the Home Diffuser above. The difference? This diffuser can cover a slightly larger area than the home diffuser. However, it only has continuous mode, and you can’t turn the light on and off like you can with the home diffuser. It looks nice, but if you want light control and/or the alternating diffusion, this isn’t the one for you.
The Young Living Rainstone Diffuser
This is an ultrasonic diffuser, but it also features a negative ionizer, which helps removes pollutants in the air and increase oxygen flow to the brain. Created with a rare purple clay found only in a small region of China, the Rainstone has a robust feature set, including continuous ultrasonic diffusion at 1.7 million waves per second; 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8 hour settings with automatic shutoff; five soft LED light settings (including off) and a remote control.
The USB Orb Diffuser
This tiny diffuser (about five inches wide) is spill proof. And it lives up to the claim. You can tip it over on its side and not a drop of water comes out. It’s not an atomizing or ultrasonic diffuser, but instead uses a wick, water and fan. You drip oils onto a presoaked wick, fill the lower portion of the Orb with water, and screw it together. It runs in continues or intermittent modes and is powered by a USB connection. Designed for a small, personal area.
The Young Living Dewdrop
Last but definitely not least is the newer Dewdrop™ diffuser. So what’s unique about this one? It takes the humidifying, water based feature of ultrasonic diffusers, and combines that with atomizing. The result is a highly therapeutic diffuser that also adds moisture into the air.
There Are Still Others To Choose From
Are there other diffusers available through Young Living? You bet. From the beautiful Aria Ultrasonic Diffuser with wood accents, to other therapeutic models like the TheraPro. Each has minor differences or cosmetic features that make them unique. I’ve listed some of my favorites above, and I hope that this post will help you understand the core differences in the models. If you have questions about diffusers, I’d be happy to help you! Simply contact me and I’ll be in touch shortly.
