Red Dye 3
Well, the FDA has decided to ban Red Dye 3. This dye is a known cancer causing chemical especially breast cancer. It was also found to cause thyroid cancer in rats. It is intersting to note that it was banned from use in make-up in 1990. Unfortunalty, the FDA has given companies till 2027 to find an alternative. Also, just a few more facts. The leading cause of death for women in America is heart disease. The second cause of death is cancer....mainly breast cancer. Do you see the correlation? By the way  Red Dye 3 is banned in Europe and Canada.

Robert Kennedy is also asking for food companies to ban high fructose corn syrup and use only cane sugar.  Why? Fifty-Percent of children in the United States are overweight while 76% of adults are overweight. High fructose corn syrup is found in a lot of processed foods such as cake, candy, sweetened drinks etc. The diffence between cane sugar and high fructose corn syrup is, corn syrup is known to cause weight gain. Do you see a correlation here?

I am excited over these changes. I am hoping Robert Kennedy will ask for even more changes. What about a ban on yellow and blue dies. How about doing a study on the cause and effects of vaccines. Especially in children. Just a few facts on vaccines. In 1960 children received 4 vaccines. Today they receive over 15. There are a total of about 73 vaccines today. One more astonising number...only 5 people died from the polio vaccine. In Europe alone, 11,000 people died from the Covid vaccine. Again It took 7 years to develop the Polio vaccine and one year to develop the Covid vaccine.

Our country is very sick. One reason is because we are overweight and have tons of chemicals in our foods, cleaning products, body care products, candles...etc. The best way to stay healthy is to keep our bodies healthy. So what can we do? You know I am recovering from being sick. I am doubling up on my oils and supplements. I hope next week to begin a diet to cleanse my system of chemicals. And I need to loose weight which is an ongoing battle that I will always have. Of course water is great for your body and sugar is never good. Read your labels. Does your daily treat have high furctose corn syrup?  Can you pick a better option? Also, growing up we ate all our meals at home. It looks like the ease of fast food is causing the United States to be vastly overweight and unhealthy.  My goal is to cook my own meals and limit eating out. I am thinking of the money I could save.

I know that health can be an onging problem but we can make our health better with a few changes. Today Publix had syrup on sale. One was made with high frutose corn syrup and the other with sugar. I chose the one with sugar. I do read labels but I am going to start reading all of them and see what is made with high fructose corn syrup. What are you eating? Do you read food labels? How often do you eat out? What habits can you implement that will make your body strong? Think about it.

I learned how to enjoy life over 50......

Turning 40 was a magical age for me. I was at an age where life was easy. I enjoyed scrapbooking and crafting with my friends, homeschooling my son and serving alongside my husband in our local church. Even though I was overweight I looked good and felt good. But within a few short years my health changed dramatically. I developed respiratory issues, pelvic pain, and a chronic disorder characterized by “widespread muscle pain with fatigue and tenderness”.  Occasional anxiety set in. My decline really affected my ability to be creative, to minister effectively in my church and to function at home.

I suffered through a hysterectomy and many doctors visits. A change in seasons would send me in a painful roller coaster of antibiotics and steroids. Spending a whole day in bed became normal.  Age 50 came quickly with no lasting solutions.

Eventually I began to explore and research natural remedies. Something I was not taught in my younger years was lifestyle.  I considered that maybe my lifestyle was contributing to my health issues and my emotions.

One day I was venting my frustration to a friend who had been battling some of  the same chronic issues. We talked about some of the natural solutions I had read about. One of the  solutions she had used and had some great results with. I became instantly interested.

That is when my real life changing journey began. I found a solution that has contributed to a healthy lifestyle and brought about the quality of life I was looking for.  It is my mission to share with mature women, how to embrace the enjoyment of life over 50.
