Balancing Hormones Naturally: What You Can Start Doing Now
Do You Ever Feel Like Your Hormones Are Running the Show? One minute you’re laughing uncontrollably, the next you’re snapping at your husband, and then you’re crying because you can’t find your favorite socks. (Spoiler: it’s not really about the socks — it’s your hormones calling the shots.)
Or maybe you crash on the couch at 8 p.m.… only to be wide awake at 2 a.m., wondering if raccoons also have trouble balancing their hormones. (Just me? Okay.)

Hormones are powerful little messengers in the body, and when they’re out of whack, it can feel like we’re out of whack too. But here’s the good news: you don’t need a total lifestyle overhaul or some complicated plan to support them. Balance often comes from simple, realistic changes — the kind you can start today.

Lighten the Toxin Load (Without Losing Your Mind)

Here’s the not-so-fun fact: a lot of everyday products — cleaners, candles, even that “fresh-scent” laundry soap — are packed with hormone disruptors. That’s like giving your poor endocrine system a full-time job it never signed up for.

Now, don’t panic — I’m not saying you need to sweep through your house like a reality TV decluttering show and toss everything at once. (Although, if you’ve ever wanted to throw your cleaning supplies in the trash in a fit of rage, you’re not alone.)

Start small:
  • Cleaners: Swap the neon-blue cleaner for something safer. Thieves Household Cleaner is one of my favorites, but you can also DIY a simple version with vinegar, water, and a few drops of essential oil.
  • Candles: I used to love them — until I realized “Fresh Linen” was basically a chemistry set on fire. Now I diffuse essential oils instead, or sometimes just simmer lemon slices and cinnamon sticks on the stove for a cozy, natural scent.
  • Personal care: Flip your labels. If you see “parabens” or “phthalates,” it’s a no. Try brands like Native, Primally Pure, or even make-your-own with coconut oil and baking soda.
Try This Today: Swap just one product you use every day (like hand soap or cleaner) for a cleaner version. Your hormones will thank you.

Love Your Liver (It’s Doing More Than You Think)

Once you’ve given your environment a little hormone-friendly makeover, the next step is showing some love to the hardest-working organ in your body: your liver.

Your liver is the overachiever that filters toxins, processes hormones, and still keeps you alive even after you eat those sketchy leftovers. But if it’s bogged down, your hormones can spiral out of balance.

Some simple ways to support it:
  • Hydrate: Water helps flush things out. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon or a drop of Lemon Vitality oil if you want to make it more enjoyable.
  • Eat your greens: Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts) are your liver’s besties.
  • Gentle movement: A walk after dinner or some light yoga is more than enough.
  • Antioxidants: NingXia Red is my go-to, but even a simple green smoothie, a handful of blueberries, or a cup of green tea is a win.
Try This Today: Add one serving of broccoli to your dinner and swap your afternoon soda for water with lemon.

Feed Your Hormones (Because They Get Hangry Too)

Ever notice how a skipped meal can turn you into a completely different person? (My family knows not to talk to me if I’ve gone too long without snacks. It’s for their safety.) That’s your blood sugar messing with your hormones.

Your hormones stay happiest when you:
  • Eat protein at each meal – helps keep blood sugar steady. Think eggs, chicken, beans, or Greek yogurt.
  • Load up on colorful veggies – antioxidants + fiber = happy cells.
  • Get healthy fats – avocado, nuts, olive oil… basically guac counts as therapy.
  • Fill gaps smartly – For me, adding in things like an omega-3 and Hormone Essentials has been part of my routine. It’s one of those small swaps that helps me feel more supported day to day.
Try This Today: Add protein to your breakfast — eggs, a protein smoothie, or even almond butter on toast.

Forget Perfect, Aim for Consistent

Here’s a little truth bomb: your body doesn’t need perfect. It just needs consistent. Instead of trying to overhaul your life overnight, pick one small change and stick with it.

  • Swap your cleaner.
  • Drink one extra glass of water.
  • Try a shot of NingXia — or green tea — in the afternoon instead of another coffee.
Tiny shifts snowball into big changes. And hey, if all else fails, at least you’re hydrated, and your house smells like cinnamon-clove goodness instead of “mystery chemical #47.”

Final Thoughts

Balancing hormones doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It’s about giving your body less to fight against, more of what it needs, and a whole lot of grace in the process.

Meet Lynn Dehmlow

My story is that I found myself at a point in my life where I was struggling and no longer felt like myself.  I felt as if I could no longer keep up with my friends and family and felt isolated from the world. I was only in my early 40’s at that time; but felt like I was in my 80’s. I was losing hope. Finally, I said enough was enough, I didn't want to live that way. So, I started searching for a better way and learned about Essential Oils. Then my friend Connie posted that she was using oils and offered a sample of Peppermint. I tried it and was convinced of their power. I purchased a Premium Starter Bundle and have NEVER regretted the decision.

As I continued to learn more, I started being proactive in choosing the kinds of products I used every day.  From supplements to cleaning and personal care products. I researched ingredients and made simple swaps to healthier alternatives a little at a time. I started taking supplements that supported my whole body. Slowly, I started noticing changes. I no longer felt like I was 40 years older than my age. I felt like myself again. I regained hope.

People around me noticed and asked what I was doing. As I shared, what worked for me, they felt empowered to take charge of their wellness and made some simple changes that dramatically impacted their lives. And that is what I offer to you. Are you ready to take charge of your wellness? Are you looking for a better way?  If you are feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start, you are in the correct spot. Let's chat and together we can develop a plan to live your best life.
