🌿🌸 Incredible info about Ylang Ylang on this 10 minute video from Gary Young in a Ylang Ylang field on our farm in Ecuador.
🌿🌸 Did you know that a Ylang Ylang flowers are best harvested at night because that is when the essential oil is at its highest yield in the flower? He describes how the aroma would come wafting in to their house at night when the windows were open and it would be intoxicating! Can you imagine?!?!
🌿🌸 He teaches us how to know when the Ylang Ylang flower is ready to harvest in this video. Even if we never pick a Ylang Ylang flower ourselves, this is so good to watch because it shows the extensive care Young Living goes to in making sure we have the absolute highest quality of essential oils that there is to be had!
🌿🌸 There is a teeny tiny red line on the inside of 1 or 2 of the petals of the Ylang Ylang flower. If that red line is not there on at least one of the petals, (only found on a mature flower) it will not have a very important compound in the essential oil. If that key note is not there you won't have a high quality Ylang Ylang oil!
