If you have been around Young Living for any amount of time, you have heard us talk about a desk reference. It is like the encyclopedia for Young Living oils. A three letter agency does not let us tell you exactly all the things that these beautiful oils do, we can only speak of them in very general and simple terms. Fall is upon us and we want to be prepared for all the things. My two favorite respiratory support oils to take internally for tough respiratory things are Red Cedar Bliss, formulated for supporting your lungs and immune system and Laurus Nobilis. 4-5 drops a day in a gelatin capsule will do your lungs a lot of good. If you cannot swallow capsules, you can put the drops in a tsp of raw honey. These are must haves in my home to keep our lungs healthy and breathing easy. Red Cedar Bliss has Laurus Nobilis in the combination of oils in the blend, so if you can't afford both, Red Cedar Bliss should be on your list. It is not only good to take internally for lungs, but it also just smells devine.
What is in your Fall wellness kit? I say all the time, to order one or two oils per month on Loyalty to build your wellness kit to keep the cost economical and to be prepared when things strike at home. Did you know that Young Living oils do not expire? If you do not use that full bottle of Lavender this year, or the next or even in 10 years, it is still just as potent and valuable for your health issues ten years down the line. This is my hand, and it is exciting! Can you guess why?
For those who know me and see me daily, I have not been able to make a fist with my left hand since December. I have not been able to wear my wedding rings since December.
It started with mild swelling and slight pain. I didn’t hit it, or injure it that I know of so I just thought I strained it since I type every day. Then one night I took my rings off and poof, my whole ring finger swelled up and I couldn’t bend it beyond the first joint.
I dealt with it for months and thought it would go away. Then it didn’t. I didn’t consistently apply anything to it. I finally decided to talk to a hand specialist and of course he told me to get steroid injections even though he said they only worked for half the people 
. No thank you. Look up the dangers of steroid injections. 
. Then he said surgery was the only other option. 
. I don’t want surgery unless I’m dying soooooo I decided to take some time and see what I could do on my own. The doctor said it was a strained tendon and the band around it was tight causing my finger not to bend and that he needed to cut that band to release the tendon. Literally I couldn’t bend my finger into fist position UNTIL today. 
. No thank you. Look up the dangers of steroid injections. . Then he said surgery was the only other option. . I don’t want surgery unless I’m dying soooooo I decided to take some time and see what I could do on my own. The doctor said it was a strained tendon and the band around it was tight causing my finger not to bend and that he needed to cut that band to release the tendon. Literally I couldn’t bend my finger into fist position UNTIL today. I was giving my husband a raindrop daily when he was working two weeks ago when I noticed that my finger was limber and could almost touch my palm. So I decided to put those oils in a roller ball and apply daily, 4x a day.
This accomplishment here is after only 2 days of consistent application.
Oils work. They help the bodies natural response to inflammation and help restore the body back to normal balance at a cellular level.

Have you tried a Young Living Raindrop Technique yet?
If not, you need to! My daughter started giving them to us when she was 10 years old. Yes, anyone can do it. You can purchase the Young Living Raindrop kit that comes with paper instructions on how to use the kit. My daughter would lay us on the floor or bed and apply the oils while she followed the instructions. It is so soothing and relaxing. Even if you cannot purchase the kit (say its out of stock at times) you can buy the bottles of oils individually and watch a full version of the Raindrop on You Tube. There is one that has Gary Young doing the technique at a class.
I highly recommend this, I have gone to Young Livings Raindrop class over the years and the benefits are simply amazing. Look up the benefits in your desk reference, there is a whole section to describe the Raindrop treatment and what it entails!!!!

Raindrop technique is a powerful technique using essential oils that was developed by D. Gary Young in the 1980s. It combines several modalities to bring balance and transformation. It also supports body systems on a physical and emotionally level.
The most amazing thing about Raindrop is that all of my clients measure taller after just one session! Yeah! They are not actually taller, but inflammation is gone from the spine, so the posture is elongated. We measure before and after and its pretty amazing to see it before your eyes.
What is Raindrop Technique?
This technique involves applying therapeutic grade essential oils to the spine, neck and feet. The session lasts about an hour however the benefits may last up to a week or more.
Gary found that combining several holistic techniques, described below, created a synergistic effect for the body. The three modalities that combine to form Raindrop Technique are:
Aromatherapy – Raindrop technique uses seven single essential oils, two blends and one essential oil massage blend during the session. It is congruent with the French application of aromatherapy where essential oils are applied NEAT (undiluted) to the body.
Vita Flex Technique – Vita Flex was brought to the US in the 1920s by Stanley Burroughs. It is an ancient Tibetan methodology meaning "vitality through the reflexes". Overhead lights, TV, microwave, cell phones and computers all have in-cohesive frequency which FRACTURES our body’s energy system.
So if we want to increase our health on a mentally, physically or spiritual level; essential oils are vital. Nothing else we can apply topically or take internally can touch essential oils on the vibrational scale. Other tools such as meditation, prayer, EFT, also powerfully affect the vibrational rates. Combining these tools with oils creates a powerful synergy.
“Everything is alive, connected and changing, yielding its own life force. This flow of
energy can be quantified, typically measured in units called hertz. Named after Heinrich Hertz,
a German physicist who experimentally proved the existence of electromagnetic waves, hertz
(abbreviated Hz) can be defined as electrical energy transmitted as a series of cycles, equal to
one cycle per second.
How does this relate to vibrational frequency? Everything in nature vibrates. Vibration can
be defined as ‘a periodic motion of the particles of an elastic body or medium in alternately
opposite directions from the position of equilibrium when that equilibrium has been disturbed’.
Put simply, your body and everything in the environment are made up of trillions of tiny
molecules, all constantly cycling and moving, emitting a vibrational energy. As the cycle of
energy vibrates at a more frequent rate, the vibrational frequency raises.
The vibrational frequency of essential oils are measured in megahertz (abbreviated MHz),
which cycle at a rate much faster than electricity, equal to 1,000,000 cycles per second.
The frequency of the oils we use is determined by heat of processing, pressure, time of harvest, genetic variety, altitude…so many variables. My advice for all the oilers out there has been to purchase your summer oils during the winter and purchase your winter oils during the summer to avoid out of stock issues and to make sure you are always prepared so when your family falls below the wellness line, you can start helping to boost the body immediately before the issue takes root. I was brought up believing in God. Not the Bible but God. Although my mom would tell me after we would say prayers before bed “don’t pray for big things because God is too busy for that”.
My Faith in God was always surface level. I felt condemned by him, I felt judged by him, never love but only anger.
Fast forward to loosing two spouses by the age of 36! I would make it through life after loss out of my own strength. I questioned where God was in all of it. Why would he punish me like this? I knew I wasn’t a perfect person but I thought I was a good person.
I was pregnant with my youngest when my late husband died. I couldn’t understand why God wanted me to be a single parent to even more children? Why did he do this?
Desperate one night when all the kids were asleep, I cried out to God to either take me or change my life. I had it good in most people’s eyes even after loosing my husband. I lived in a nice house, I was able to stay at home with healthy kids, I had family and security. But I was miserable inside. Empty, lost and I didn’t understand why I could have be blessed so much but be so unhappy.
Two days later, after crying out to God to take me, a friend asked me to go to her church. I was taught growing up that if I went to another church other than the one I grew up in that I would go to hell. At this moment, I felt like I was in my own personal mental hell so I decided to go. People there were the opposite of the church I grew up in. They were smiling, warm, welcoming and loving. It all seemed weird but something inside said “your hearing truth”
My life changed when I started to read the Bible and see what God said for myself instead of just living off of traditions of man taught to me as a child.
God started to show, in very tangible ways, how much he cared about every little thing in my life, and every big thing too. I could write a book on the things He did for me, now that I was listening, to see how much he loved me, despite my imperfections and lack of attention to him all my years of living.
Little did I know how he was building my Faith to help me endure the thing I always said I could never endure. The loss of a child. Giving a son up for adoption when I was only 17 threw me into severe emotional turmoil that lasted for years. Then to have another child taken from you, was the ultimate mental anguish.
In 2007, on a beautiful Saturday morning, I awoke and spoke with my oldest daughter briefly. Then I proceeded to make breakfast and go back to my room to read and pray for my kids. After a time of praying, I went to my daughter’s room to find her tragically gone. I can’t describe the rest of that day because I don’t remember much. Other than throwing my Bible at the police when they arrived. This was the one thing I had always said I would never be able to survive. Why God? Why?
I was mad at God but also the work He had been doing in me had taught me that the number of days we have on this earth is only known by God and we cannot change that. We don’t have the power. I had also learned and experienced and knew that God did not cause evil in this world but man does with his greed and pride and selfishness, at the root of all evil. God allows, and uses bad things in our life to teach us and create a good work in us, he does not causes the bad. Why would God allow, most of us would say, but He works in ways that man cannot understand and in hindsight, always for our benefit. Even in times of trial and deep loss, God is helping us grow into the people he designed us to be.
That day forever changed me. At the time I thought my kids would all be destined to be messed up adults, and I assumed I would never find joy again, and never experience happiness. The worst had happened and I could not, at that moment, even imagine that I would ever find the good in this tragedy.
It is true that we experienced years of heartache and pain for every holiday, anniversary, and tears whenever I would see a teenager. I mourned so deeply, daily for my kids who not only lost their father but now two siblings that they were robbed of ever knowing. The pain was deep but Gods grace and mercy for me took me on a journey of experiences that are beyond describable to show me that He was with me. He put people in my life that would help us, comfort us, serve us and befriend us when we needed it.
The Bible became my strength to understand Him more so I didn’t blame Him but saw more and more each day of how He was working things out for my benefit, so I would be a better mother and friend and Christian. He taught me I could trust Him when I wanted to give up, because He would give me the strength to go on. He would help me raise my kids and show me that He would care for them even when I felt I wasn’t doing a great job.
The most tragic of days slowly and beautifully started to get better. The healing is slow. The healing is hard. The healing only comes truly when you allow God to be your source and not on your own strength.
Years later in 2019, God blessed us by answering years of prayers to be united with the son I gave up for adoption when I was a teen. It came about in the most unusual of ways but the kids were so excited to meet the brother they always heard of and I saw how God weaved this gift into my life’s story that he is writing for me.
I will never get to see Megan get married or have children or grow old, but I do get the joy and peace knowing that she loved Jesus too, and put her trust in him and is safely in His arms where I will see her again.
God has walked alongside me through the most horrific losses and yet He brings me peace that can come from nothing on this earth. He is sovereign over all things, including our time here and He continues to work through every mistake I make, every prayer I pray, and I am so ever grateful that he is in charge and I am not. His will and plans are perfect unlike mine. 💜
When you put your trust in Jesus, all things will become clear, all the pain will be used for your benefit and you will see the goodness of God in your life. I guarantee it!

Why did I create this formula? The essential oils in Valor were used by the Roman soldiers before battle to promote courage during a time of physical and emotional challenges. All of us go through physical and emotional challenges. I made this blend in 1990 because at that time I was having a confrontation with the IRS, and I had to go to Seattle for the hearing. I was representing myself in court because I couldn’t afford an attorney. I was really scared. I’d never been in a court with the IRS before; this was a first experience.
I made Valor the night before, poured it in the tub, and then bathed in it. At that time I was living in Spokane where I had a little farm I was starting. I drove to Seattle, stayed in a motel, got up, went into the hearing that morning and presented my case. They made me feel like I was less than dirt. But I stood my ground and argued my points, and then I left. Two weeks later I got a certified letter in the mail announcing to me: Mr. Young, we’ve heard your case, we’ve reviewed it, we have accepted your presentation, and we have dropped our issues against you. So I won on all 42 counts. That was a big accomplishment for me. So, Valor became very, very dear to me and has been a very powerful oil blend ever since.
