Have you ever felt like you’re standing between what was and what’s next?
This season has been full of that for me. I'm still recovering from another procedure to my left hamstring. Over the last four years, I've had more procedures and surgeries than I care to count. Each recovery has been so different, especially since we recently discovered MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) has been significantly impacting my progress.
But one thing that remains constant--within every recovery period I go through a pruning cycle. I'm letting go of what I thought healing would look like. Releasing timelines. Adjusting expectations. Learning to trust God in the in-between.
Preparing the way isn’t always about stepping into something new right away. Sometimes it’s about gently releasing what you’ve been holding onto like old expectations, old pace, and old ways of pushing through. And like all my other recoveries, I'm making room for something different. Something steadier. Something rooted.
Something led by faith instead of pressure. I've had many God moments throughout my joy journey and these serve as my joy anchors. I'm excited for what God has next.

How about you? You have a story too, and it matters. As we move toward a new season together, my friend, I’m reminded that God is not rushing the process. He is present in it.
One Joy Tip For You
Ask yourself: What is one thing I can gently release in this season?
You don’t have to carry everything into what’s next. Allow yourself to prune away what no longer serves you so you can make room for something different. And sometimes it's as simple as a fresh new way of looking at what is right in front of you.
Scripture to Hold for Joy
“But forget all that--it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See I have already begun! Do you not see it? ” — Isaiah 43:18–19
Joy for the Journey
New beginnings don’t always start with new job, full healing, a perfect life, or radical changes. Sometimes they begin with quiet surrender and a small step forward.
