From Confused and Drained to Clear and Supported

Like many women, I saw midlife changes begin quietly at first. My energy shifted, my sleep became less reliable, and I started noticing symptoms that did not feel like the version of me I recognized.

At first, I did what so many women do: I pushed through and blamed myself. I wondered if I was doing something wrong, not trying hard enough, or simply failing to keep up with what used to feel easy.

The more I learned, the more I realized these symptoms were not character flaws. They were signals from a changing body, asking for support, understanding, and a different approach.

That realization changed everything for me. Instead of staying stuck in frustration, I began studying midlife health more deeply and exploring science-backed, natural ways to support hormones, energy, sleep, mood, and weight balance.

What I discovered was both practical and empowering. Education, plant-based hormone support, cellular nutrition, and simple daily tools helped me feel more grounded, more informed, and more like myself again.

As my own transformation unfolded, I felt called to share what I was learning with other women. That led me to write Menopause Essentials, Hormone Harmony, and Sip & Thrive so women could have trustworthy, encouraging resources in their hands.

Over time, my work grew into a mission to support women through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause without shame or overwhelm. I created quizzes, educational tools, a 24/7 AI chatbot, and practical product support so women could stop guessing and start understanding their bodies.

Today, I help women turn confusion into clarity and frustration into a plan. Nothing means more to me than helping a woman feel seen, supported, and hopeful as she learns how to care for herself in midlife.

Understand Your Symptoms

Instead of wondering why your body feels different, you begin to connect the dots between hormone shifts and the symptoms you're experiencing. This clarity helps you make informed choices and feel less overwhelmed by the changes of midlife.

Support Energy and Mood

With the right plant-based nutrition and hormone support, daily life can start to feel steadier and more manageable. Many women want support for fatigue, irritability, and emotional ups and downs, and this approach helps create a practical foundation for feeling more balanced.

Sleep More Peacefully

Midlife hormone changes can disrupt rest, leaving you tired before the day even begins. By using simple, supportive tools like targeted nutrition and essential oils, you can create a more calming routine that helps your body settle into better sleep.

FAQ

How do I know if my symptoms are related to midlife hormones?
Many common symptoms like fatigue, mood changes, sleep issues, weight shifts, and PMS-like patterns can be connected to perimenopause or menopause. My quizzes, educational resources, and support tools can help you better understand what may be going on.
Do I have to use everything at once to get results?
No. We focus on simple, manageable steps instead of overwhelming you with too much at once. The goal is to help you build a supportive routine that fits your body and your season of life.
Is this support only for women in menopause?
No. This support is for women in perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. If you are noticing midlife changes and want clarity and natural support, you are in the right place.
What about PMS? I am not in menopause yet.
PMS is often the first signal that your hormones are starting to shift. Even if you are still cycling regularly, you can benefit from hormone support, targeted nutrition (like B6, calcium, and magnesium from Master Cellular Nutrition), and essential oils like Dragon Time for comfort and mood.
I am over 35. Is it too early to start paying attention?
Not at all. Many women notice the first subtle changes in their late thirties and early forties — fatigue that lingers, harder recoveries, slower metabolism, sleep that is not as deep. Supporting your body early can make the transition into perimenopause much smoother.
How do I know if my blood pressure needs support?
Healthy blood pressure is a common concern for women over 40, especially as hormone shifts affect vascular function. I recommend regular monitoring with your doctor. For natural support, CardioGize contains hawthorn, motherwort, CoQ10, and vitamin K2 to support circulation and heart health.
What about blood sugar regulation and metabolism?
Blood sugar and metabolism often become less efficient after age 35. This can show up as energy crashes, cravings, food noise, and stubborn belly fat. The Balance & Burn system supports GLP-1 pathways, insulin sensitivity, and healthy glucose metabolism — all with plant-powered ingredients.
I have multiple concerns. Where do I start?
Start with the 12-symptom quiz. It will help you identify your top three priorities, and I will give you a personalized recommendation. Most women start with one product (often Master Cellular Nutrition for cellular foundation or Daily Hormone Essentials for hormone support), then layer in others as they build consistency.
Can I get personalized advice from you?
I offer one-on-one consultations, but they are fee-based because my time is limited. I am licensed to prescribe in Texas. For women outside Texas — or those whose own providers cannot offer natural, lifestyle-focused support — I offer fee-based consultations to help with the lifestyle part of your plan. This includes education on supplements, essential oils, nutrition, and stress management.
Do you prescribe to people outside of Texas?
No. I can only prescribe to patients physically located in Texas. But for natural advice — supplements, essential oils, lifestyle changes — I can consult with women anywhere. That is what my fee-based consultations are for.
Are you a doctor? Do you prescribe?
Yes. I am a board-certified physician practicing anti-aging, regenerative, and integrative medicine. I prescribe hormones and medications when appropriate to patients in Texas.

But here is what I have learned: prescriptions have limits. They do not replace good nutrition. They do not replace vitamins. They do not replace sleep, stress management, or plant-based support. Many people need support beyond what a prescription alone can offer.

That is where I come in. I help women add natural tools — essential oils, targeted supplements, and lifestyle changes — alongside their medical care. My goal is not to keep you on medications forever. My goal is to help you get healthy enough to have a conversation with your prescriber about adjusting, reducing, or even changing what you are taking — if that is right for you.
Do you recommend Young Living exclusively?
No. I recommend products from a variety of practitioner-based brands based on what each person's situation requires.
What makes Young Living different from other essential oil brands?
Young Living is one of my favorite tools for essential oils because of three things: the quality of their oils, their oil-infused supplements, and their new, patented DeepSpectra technology. I even wrote a book — Menopause Essentials — because I saw the value of these products for aging women.
Did you write books about Young Living products?
I wrote Menopause Essentials and Hormone Harmony because I saw the real-world applications of these products for aging women. Both books are available on GrowingHealthyHomes.com. I also wrote an e-book called Sip & Thrive with some of my favorite recipes using Young Living's edible essential oils.
Can men use any of these products?
Yes. Young Living has product lines for men, women, pets, children, and babies. Many of the supplements and essential oils are suitable for anyone. If you are shopping for a specific person or concern, I am happy to guide you.
Is natural support safe with prescription medications?
I mix modalities all the time. But I have advanced education in holistic nutrition, herbs, aromatherapy, and I am an MD. Most providers do not mix because you have to know each modality well to see how they connect, intersect, and blend.

Natural support and prescriptions can go well together — or they can conflict. That is why education matters. If your provider is not familiar with natural options, you are welcome to schedule a consultation with me to discuss your specific situation.

Holistic Approaches to Boosting Lymphatic System Health
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in eliminating cellular waste and maintaining overall health. As we age, the accumulation of cellular "junk" can slow down the lymphatic system, leading to symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, and inflammation. Here's a comprehensive guide to support your lymphatic system naturally:

Primary Essential Oils:
  • Peppermint: Activates lymph flow and drainage.
  • Frankincense: Beneficial both internally and externally.
  • Lemon: Known for its cleansing properties.
Additional Essential Oils:
  • Parsley, Celery Seed, Juniper, Lime.
  • Oregano (diluted): Excellent for massage to stimulate circulation.
  • Sandalwood: Supports lymphatic drainage when applied or added to a bath.
  • Lemongrass: Aids in lymphatic drainage, edema, and fluid retention.
  • Helichrysum: Helps clear liver congestion and fatigue.
  • Fennel: Supports the lymphatic system as a decongestant and aids in eliminating unwanted fats and fluids.
  • Cumin: Helps balance inflammatory responses.
  • Cypress, Bay Laurel.
Ways to Boost Your Lymphatic System Health:
  1. Cut down on toxic food: Opt for organic, eliminate processed foods, sugars, and carbs.
  2. Short-term cleanse: Ease the burden on the liver and kidneys.
  3. Dry brushing: Boost circulation and stimulate lymph nodes before showering.
  4. Probiotics: Support your body's natural bacteria balance.
  5. Hydrate: Drink at least six to eight 8-ounce glasses of purified water daily.
  6. Breathe deeply: Stimulate the lymphatic system through deep breathing.
  7. Regular physical exercise: Even five minutes a day can help pump the lymphatic system.
  8. Sweat: Sauna or steam bath for a healthy sweat.
  9. Avoid aluminum-based antiperspirants: Opt for natural deodorants.
  10. Proper sleep: Consider Immupro or Sleepessence for quality sleep.
  11. Maintain proper pH: Include green, leafy vegetables and consider supplements like Multigreens, NingXia Greens and Alkalime.
  12. Charcoal support: Use activated charcoal to aid detox.
  13. Perfume and cosmetic detox: Avoid products containing toxins, consider Thieves Household products.
  14. Supercharge metabolism: Support thyroid, adrenal, and hormonal health with Thyromin, Endogize, and Progessence Plus.
  15. Digestive enzymes: Relieve the workload on the pancreas with enzymes, consider Detoxzyme.
  16. Coffee Enemas: Boost glutathione and aid detoxification.  Read all the details and instructions here. *Hands down – one of the best therapies to reduce whole body burden. Coffee enemas boost glutathione s-transferase by up to 700%, which is one of the body's master antioxidants and is involved in different phases of detoxification. Hold the enema for 15 minutes for the coffee to be absorbed through the hemorrhoidal vein to reach the liver. (Any enema will be beneficial, it doesn't have to be coffee, it can also be acv, warm water, probiotic, etc..)
Note: Always consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your health routine.
My favorite essential oils for pregnancy
During pregnancy, it is essential to focus on safety and proper dilution when using essential oils. Certain oils like Lavender, Grapefruit, Lemon, and Orange are often considered safe for both topical application and diffusion, offering gentle support for expectant mothers. Frankincense, another favorite, can be used daily when diluted correctly, providing a nurturing experience.

Nutritional supplements and healthy snack options also play a crucial role in supporting a healthy pregnancy. Young Living recommends incorporating antioxidant-rich superfruit juices such as NingXia Red® into one's diet, alongside snacking on Slique™ Bars and NingXia Wolfberries for their health benefits. Additionally, MegaCal, a magnesium supplement, is suggested for its calming effects, contributing to overall well-being.

Addressing common pregnancy challenges like morning sickness, swelling, and mood changes can also be managed with the gentle assistance of essential oils. Ginger and citrus blends are recommended for nausea relief, while oils like Orange, Grapefruit, and Lemon may help reduce swelling. For uplifting the mood and alleviating pain, Lavender, Citrus Fresh™, and Frankincense are excellent choices, supporting a more comfortable and joyful pregnancy journey.
When navigating the journey of pregnancy, it's essential to be cautious and selective with the use of essential oils. Certain oils, such as Lavender, Grapefruit, Lemon, and Orange, are often recommended for their safety during pregnancy and can be used topically or diffused to provide a soothing and refreshing atmosphere. Additionally, Frankincense is highlighted for its versatility, but it should always be diluted properly to ensure safety.

Incorporating nutritional supplements and healthy snack options into one's diet during pregnancy can also play a significant role in maintaining overall well-being. Young Living offers products like NingXia Red®, rich in antioxidants, and Slique™ Bars, providing healthy snacking alternatives. Moreover, supplements such as MegaCal, which contains magnesium, can offer calming effects, addressing some of the common challenges associated with pregnancy.

Furthermore, essential oils can provide support for various pregnancy-related challenges, such as morning sickness, swelling, pain, and mood fluctuations. Oils like Ginger, Lemon, and Orange can offer relief from nausea, while Lavender and Citrus Fresh™ can help elevate mood. It's crucial to consult a healthcare professional experienced with essential oils to ensure safety and efficacy, and to remember that these products are intended for wellness support rather than disease treatment or cure.

Strategies for Maintaining Hair Health and Natural Pigmentation as We Age
Slowing down the graying process of hair and maintaining its health involves a holistic approach that combines lifestyle adjustments, herbal remedies, essential oils, and dietary supplements. A nutritious diet, rich in essential vitamins and minerals such as B vitamins, iron, copper, and zinc, plays a critical role in supporting hair health and potentially delaying the onset of premature graying. Herbal remedies like sage and rosemary are recognized for their potential to enhance natural hair color and prevent premature graying, thanks to their antioxidant properties and ability to stimulate hair growth.

The decline in melatonin levels with age can affect essential hair growth chemicals and pigments, leading to graying and thinning. Strategies to counteract these effects include the intake of supplements and products rich in antioxidants to combat oxidative stress and support melanin production. Essential oils such as frankincense, rosemary, and sage are highlighted for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can support a healthy scalp environment, enhance natural hair color, and slow the graying process.

In addressing premature graying, it's also beneficial to consider hormone support and specific supplements that promote melanin synthesis and address vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Products like ImmuPro™ and SleepEssence™ can support melatonin levels, while Master Formula or Mineral Essence can help overcome deficiencies. Managing stress and quitting smoking, with the aid of black pepper essential oil, are additional strategies recommended for maintaining natural hair color and overall hair health.
