What If This IS God’s Plan?
Have you ever caught yourself waiting for God’s plan to begin?
When I get the answer...
When the door opens...
When the healing comes...
When this difficult season finally ends...
Then I’ll move forward. Then I’ll really live.
I understand that kind of waiting. I’ve prayed for healing for years. I’ve prayed for answers, direction, the right treatments, and the ability to return to things I love.
Recently, I listened to a message from Priscilla Shirer that challenged me. She talked about what happens when we’ve prayed for healing and it hasn’t happened. We can keep believing God for healing while also asking Him for the strength and endurance to walk faithfully through what He has allowed us to carry today.
That stopped me.
What if I’m not waiting for God’s plan?
What if I’m already living it?
I still believe in healing. I still pray boldly. I still look forward with great anticipation to what God may do next.
But I’m also beginning to see that this season isn’t simply a waiting room for the life God has for me someday. It’s living the life He has for me right now. God is here, too.
Even the little things feel different. A sweet friend recently decorated my bedroom and front porch for fall because I couldn’t do it myself. She knew it was my favorite season.
Now, every time I come home from an appointment, I get to walk up to this beautiful gift—it looks like something out of a Hallmark movie.
It’s another reminder that beautiful things are still happening right here, in a season I never would have chosen.
God is working while I heal. He is drawing me closer to my children and my husband. He is allowing me to encourage women from my bed and connect with women walking through grief and difficult seasons. He is allowing me to gather homeschool women in my home for encouragement and fellowship and support women on their wellness journeys.
He keeps showing me all I CAN do even as I fight through MCAS and orthopedic injuries.
He took my mourning and turned it into dancing.
He is growing things in me that I might never have chosen to learn this way. And I can’t wait to share what God put on my heart back in June.
Maybe you’ve been waiting, too.
Waiting for God to change something before you believe His plan can really begin.
Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep hoping.
But don’t miss God in this part of your story.
Perhaps you aren’t waiting for His plan.
Perhaps you’re living it.
JOY-FUELED COACHING TIP
Think about the season you’re currently waiting to get through.
Now ask yourself:
What if God has something for me here, too?
Instead of only asking God to change your circumstances, ask Him to show you how He is working within them.
