How to Build a Young Living Website That Looks Like You, Without a Template
Someone looked you up tonight. A friend said your name at a class, somebody saved a post of yours, a person at the fair took your card, and this evening they typed your name into their phone to see what you’re about. What they found decides whether they get in touch. For most Brand Partners it’s a social profile, and the only link on it is the Young Living enrollment link, which looks like every other Brand Partner’s. The visitor is back to scrolling before the kettle boils. That’s what starts the search for a Young Living website template: you want a page of your own to link to instead, done this week, looking like you, without taking a course in web design first.

A template hands you someone else’s layout and a set of empty boxes, and the writing is still yours to do at eleven at night. There’s another way to get there. GetOiling has an AI page builder called Build It For Me: you answer questions about your business and the page you want, and it writes the page and lays it out in the colors and fonts saved in your account. The first draft is already about you, and the editing is the small part. This post walks through what to have ready before you start, where to begin the build, what you get back, and what to do once the page exists, from checking it on your phone to putting it on a domain name of your own. Put the page’s address in your bio and on your card, and the next person who looks you up lands on a page of yours.

Everything here runs from a GetOiling account, on any plan. If you have one, you can build the page today. If you don’t, start for $1 for your first month and build it alongside the video, then bring the page you got back to the Weekly Work Session, live every Thursday at 12pm ET, where we help with whatever you’re working on.

What Does a Young Living Website Have to Do in the First Ten Seconds?

Answer two questions for the person who just arrived: is this someone for me, and what do I do next? That’s it. They aren’t reading your whole story on the first visit. They’re deciding whether there’s a next step, and a page earns that next step when it has your face on it, a sentence or two about who you help, and one clear thing to do: join a class, grab a freebie, book a consult, or send you a message if you don’t have any of those yet. A page that only describes you sends the visitor back to their evening. A page with a next step on it turns the person who looked you up into someone you can follow up with.

Your Young Living enrollment link can’t do that job. It was made to do one thing, enroll someone under you, and it looks the same as every other Brand Partner’s. It has no room for your story, your classes, your favorite products, or a kind word from someone you’ve helped. A website is the thing you own, and if you want the longer version of why that matters, our guide to your Young Living website covers what one is, whether you need one, and the pieces that make it work. This post is about getting the first page built, today.

Why a Young Living Website Template Leaves the Hard Part to You

Templates are a fair starting point, and GetOiling has them: when you add a page, every page type offers a set of pre-built ones right beside the option to describe the page and have it built for you. The trouble with starting from a template is what it gives you. The layout is someone else’s, the headline is a placeholder, every box is empty, and the two hardest parts of a website, deciding what to say and deciding how to arrange it, are still waiting for you after you pick one. That is where the project stalls, in the gap between a pretty layout and the blank box under it, and it’s why so many pages sit as drafts for a season.

Build It For Me starts from the other end. It asks about your business and about this page, then writes the copy and lays out the sections from your answers, in the colors and fonts saved in your account (the next section shows where). The page you get back isn’t a layout to fill in. It’s a first draft that is already about you, already in your look, with the writing done before you ever open an editor. You will change things, a sentence here and a photo there, and that’s editing, which is the easy, satisfying part. The hard part happened while you were answering questions about your own work, which you already know how to do.

What to Have Ready Before You Build Your Young Living Website

The builder writes from what it knows about you, so the time you spend on prep is the difference between a page you tweak and a page you rewrite. Three things do most of the work.

Your business description. Go to My Account, then Settings, then AI Settings. That page is where you tell GetOiling’s AI who you are, who you help, and how you talk. The builder reads it before it writes a word, so if it says you’re a wellness educator who helps busy families make lower-tox swaps one room at a time, the page copy says that too. If AI Settings is still blank, the builder asks for a description when you start, and you type it in there. Our AI Settings walkthrough shows how to fill it in, and everything GetOiling’s AI writes for you afterward starts from the same description.

Your colors and fonts. The fast place to save them is Website Quick Setup, under Website & Blog. Its Edit brand & style section is where you add your photo, logo, fonts and colors, and every site GetOiling builds for you uses them. You can refine them later in Colors & Fonts, also under Website & Blog, where you can set details such as button colors. If you already saved your look while following our post on branding for Young Living Brand Partners, you’re done here. Haven’t chosen colors yet? That post walks you through choosing them.

A few photos and a page you admire. A headshot, a couple of photos of you doing the work, your logo if you have one. Real photos of you beat stock images every time, because the visitor came to find out who you are. And bookmark one website whose look you like, from anywhere on the web. You’ll paste its address into the build as inspiration, and the builder uses it for the look only, never the words.

None of these is required to start. Every one of them makes the page that comes back closer to finished.

Want the whole account set up before you build anything? Everything You Need to Run a Young Living Business in One Place and the video on it cover the full setup, including two things this page doesn’t need: your calendar, for taking bookings, and Stripe, for taking payments for your own classes or services. Our post on wellness services Brand Partners can get paid for covers what you can charge for.

Where Do You Start Building a Young Living Website in GetOiling?

There’s one builder and several doors into it, so pick whichever one is in front of you. Every door leads to the same place: a preview of your new page that you can edit and keep. The page we’re building here is your home page, the one people land on when they go to your site. The same builder makes every other kind of page, so once you’ve done this one you know how to do the rest.

The first door is Website Quick Setup, under Website & Blog, the same screen where you saved your colors. Across the top it says: pick how you’d like to build, and we’ll style it from your brand automatically. Choose Build a Single Page For Me and click Continue, and the builder opens on the first of its five steps. (Build a Whole Site For Me is on that screen too, and it makes several pages at once. One good home page is the place to start, and it’s the build this post follows.)

The second door is adding a page. Go to Web Pages + Forms, under Website & Blog, click Add, and pick the kind of page you’re making: home, about, links, a sales page, a favorite-things page, contact, and so on. Inside every one of those categories sits a Build It For Me tile that says exactly what it does, build a page by describing it, next to that category’s templates. Click the tile and the same five steps open.

The third door is for a page you already have somewhere else. Instead of answering questions, you paste that page’s address, and GetOiling builds a page on your site with a similar design and layout for you to edit. On Website Quick Setup the choice is called Copy an Existing Website. In the Add page window it’s the link at the bottom called Create page from another website. You skip the five steps and land on the same kind of preview, so the sections on editing and what comes after apply to it too.

The Five Steps: Describe Your Young Living Business and the Page You Want

The builder is five short steps, and none of them asks you to know anything about web design. They ask about you.

Basics. Choose the kind of page (Home Page, if it isn’t already chosen), then say who the page is for and what you want a visitor to do on it. If you filled in AI Settings, your business description is already filled in on this step, and you can edit it there if this page needs a different angle. If you didn’t, type it in here.

Details. This step is optional. Its questions change with the kind of page, and short answers are fine. For an about page, for example, it asks for your story, your credentials and the values behind your work.

Inspiration. This is where the website you bookmarked goes. Paste up to three addresses and the builder takes a screenshot of each for visual reference only. It will not copy their content, which means you can point at any site you love, oils-related or not, and say “I like the way this looks.”

Assets. Upload the photos you gathered and any notes or outlines, up to ten files. If you’ve jotted a brain dump of what the page should cover, this is where it goes.

Layout. Let the builder use the recommended layout for the page type, or tick the box to pick your own sections and order. Leave it on the recommendation the first time. Then click Build Page For Me, and it gets to work.

You’ve done the prep and answered five steps of questions about your own business, and the page is being designed while you wait. You have not designed a layout, written a headline, or opened an editor, and the page is nearly done.

What You Get Back, and How to Edit It

What comes back is a preview of a real page. It has sections, headlines, body copy about your work, buttons that say what you asked visitors to do, and your colors on all of it. If you decide it isn’t the one, Start Over deletes it so you can build again. When it is the one, you make your changes right there on the preview, and Save + Finish keeps the page.

Editing happens by clicking on things. Click a line of text and change the words. Click an image to replace it with one of your own, or with one from GetOiling’s free image library. Each section has an Improve button that reworks that section’s words and design: easier-to-read text, a stronger button, a more eye-catching layout. Undo and redo sit beside it, and Restore brings back the first version if you liked it better. You’re editing a page that already says the right things, so the changes are small and quick: replacing an image, sharpening one sentence, changing what the button says. Deeper editing, moving sections around and adding new ones, is there once the page is saved, in GetOiling’s full page editor, and it can wait until you want it.

Two boxes on the preview finish the setup. Set as home page makes this the page people land on when they go to your site. Add or Update your Site Menu adds the page to the menu on your site, and lets you choose where it sits and what the menu item says. Tick both, click Save + Finish, and your site has a home page, in your menu.

After Your Young Living Website Is Built: The Phone Check, Your Own Domain, and the Next Page

Pull the page up on your phone before you send anyone to it. Your site’s address is GetOiling.com/ followed by your username. Pages in GetOiling adjust to a phone screen by themselves, and most visitors will be on a phone, so that’s the view to check. Read it as the person who looked you up: is it clear who you help, and is there one thing to do? If the button says the right thing and your face is on the page, you’re there.

Then think about the address. Your site works on its GetOiling address from the first minute, and plenty of Brand Partners share that for years. A domain of your own is the next step once the page exists: yourname.com on a business card reads as a business, and GetOiling’s team can get one for you or connect one you already own. That is its own topic, and our post on putting your Young Living website on your own domain picks it up from here. And once the home page is live, the natural second page is the one people click next, which is nearly always about you. How to write a Young Living about me page covers that one, and yes, the same builder makes it.

Here is the whole thing, in the order that gets it done with nothing done twice:

1. Check that AI Settings has your business description and that your colors and fonts are saved in Website Quick Setup.
2. Gather a headshot, a couple of photos, your logo if you have one, and the address of one site whose look you like.
3. Open Website Quick Setup and choose Build a Single Page For Me, or go to Web Pages + Forms, click Add, pick Home, and click the Build It For Me tile.
4. Work the five steps: choose Home Page, say who it’s for and what a visitor should do, check the business description, answer Details briefly if you want to, paste your inspiration site, upload your photos, and leave the layout on the recommendation. Click Build Page For Me.
5. On the preview, read the page top to bottom, replace any image you want to change, fix any sentence that isn’t how you’d say it, and use Improve on any section you want reworked.
6. Tick Set as home page and Add or Update your Site Menu. Save + Finish.
7. Open the page on your phone, then text your site’s address to one person and ask what they’d do next.

Ready to Build Your Young Living Website?

The next person who looks you up is going to tap whatever link you’ve given them. Make it a page of your own: your face, your words about your work, one clear next step, built from your description in five short steps. The words are on the page before you touch an editor, and what’s left is small: an image to change, a sentence or two to make sound more like you.

Want to see what a finished GetOiling site looks like first? Have a look at a sample Brand Partner site, and the bigger picture of what a site can carry is in our guide to your Young Living website. If you’d rather talk it through with people who’ve built theirs, the GetOiling Facebook group is where Brand Partners share what they made, and the Weekly Work Session is where we build it with you, live. Not on GetOiling yet? Our free Lead Generation Workshop shows you how to build a freebie people sign up for, with the page and the emails that deliver it, and $1 for your first month gets you an account to build this page in. And if you’d rather hand the whole build to someone, our concierge team builds websites for Brand Partners. The Build with GetOiling page is where to ask about it.
