In October, I had a major re-routing of my schedule due to an injury. Many habits and things-I-did-every-day as well as wellness protocols, they all had to be intentionally added back into my days. Things that had become second-nature, were now written on post it notes as reminders.
I got to thinking, big and small changes in our lives can really affect our day to day routines. Right? And perhaps others were working to be intentional with getting back to the basics or looking to change up some habits, ya know?
I have learned that there is power in numbers, aka community lol. And there is power in setting a small goal. Accomplishing that goal. And building off that win.
That is where I have been these last few weeks. Recovering from my injury yes, and also re-introducing my routines, a few at a time. Ya know, back to the basics in a sense.
Hence this 5-day water challenge. I am not yet consistent with drinking my daily goal. One thing I've learned about myself… there are times when working on a goal, that I am more successful when running with other like-minded / goal-focused peeps. Please join me!
This Saturday - November 21st - is Day 1 of the Water Challenge. You select what your goal is. Remember… set yourself up for success. Better to say… 40 oz and consistently drink that than to say 100 oz and struggle and then beat yourself up. Slow and steady will win the race!
Not sure you need this challenge?
Well…...
Need more energy?💥
How much sleep do you get each night?💤
Feeling sluggish in the middle of the day?💪
How much water do you drink daily?💦
Can't seem to give your brain a break?💬
How do you talk to yourself?🥰
We are #BetterTogether … plus #YouAreWorthItKeepGoing and do that next thing that brings you closer to your end goal!
For encouragement and to help us stay on task, I will be doing daily posts in my Reaching Wellness team page.

HEALTH UPDATE
Good Samaritans came to my rescue 4 weeks ago.
On October 7th, I was doing Daily Walk 1,172 in South Haven when I slipped on wet cement. Rather, that is what's been told to me. And as my clothing was soaked, I believed them. I awoke in the ambulance for a moment, and again in the ER, where I eventually got my bearings.
The CT scans revealed a fractured skull. Which ensured me a night in the ICU. Scans over the course of 12 hours showed things holding study, meaning I was not getting worse. So, they released me from ICU.
Thursday afternoon (10/8), 24 hrs after the fall, I walked from ICU to my hospital room where I stayed on Thursday night. I continue to get better every day. (Just not at the pace I would like, lol.) #farmgirlatheart
But I'm being wise and taking each day very intentionally. Listening to my brain, my body and my sisters.
I am humbled by, and thankful for-
How the Lord has been answering prayers.
My sisters, and family.
My besties.
Brain supplements.
All you peeps who are doing #proxywalks for me. #overwhelmed
All the incredible first responders and medical workers who helped. I know its their job .. but,, wow! So many teams and tests! #NoWords
The Good Samaritans who called 911… they helped to save my life. 😭 I don't know who they are, but would love to meet them one day.

Did a thing today, July 16, 2020. And walked myself into a 47-Day Challenge. Yup, random I know.
Let me give you some backstory. I have been thinking lots about the idea -- what we think about, we bring about. You know, what we give our attention to grows.
And I have found myself thinking waaaaaaaaaaay too much about my past. And lamenting about what was, and what never will be.
It hit me hard today, I must embrace change! I must move forward to receive what is next for me. What is waiting for me around that bend in the road. What my future has waiting for me! #YouAreWorthItKeepGoing
Add to that brick on the head, my body needs more movement. Let’s face it, working remotely during covid has its perks. But there are downfalls too. And my body’s lack of movement, even though I walk every day for 30 minutes, is taking a toll.
My muscles and joints are craving movement. The way I see it, in order to get the kinks out, I gotta get my body moving. It is vital, for both my physical and mental health.
Which tells me that I need more fun in my life!
Enter … dancing and grooving my body to the rhythm. Music is food for my soul and mind as well. Major win/win action going on with this idea.
So, after moving and grooving for 30 minutes this evening, I popped in my stories to share. And what bubbled out of me was a self-challenge! To do this move/groove/dance thing for 30 minutes daily through the end of August lol. That is 47 days. Well, Day 1, today, is done.
Only 46 more days to go!
I have decided to document this challenge in my FB & IG stories. And it will probably pop up in some posts too. I am just walking this out, making up things as I go.
My goal, in addition to getting my muscles & joints healthier, is to focus on forward movement.
Because what we feed grows.
