One step forward and a retreat
Living with autoimmune disease and hormonal syndrome takes a lot of work, and I am thankful for a mostly positive outlook.  And as a helper type person, I look to help others while leaving my oxygen mask dangling.  So, with each entry, I try to move the needle of thinking of how to care for myself better a little more without seeing it as selfish.  But unfortunately, my spirit was parched, so I signed up for a women’s retreat.

Continued Healing with Nutrition and Supplements
As I have stated in previous posts, I’m thankful to have the opportunity to see a functional doctor I love and listen to wholeheartedly. She listened to me, sent me all the lab and genetic tests, submitted them, and she consulted with me and suggested eating a paleo diet and taking the supplements I’m about to share with you.
After weeks of taking the Candida supplement, my doctor gave me a prescription to help eradicate my continuing candida problem. She is a board-certified MD, so she practices both traditional and non-traditional medicine.
Before I get to the individual supplements I’m taking, I’d like to report that I’m feeling my metabolism is in much better working order and I can even tell my brain is functioning at a higher level again. It’s been a short journey to feel so much better. I’m currently at month 8 on my transition back to optimum health after a hard two years of declining health and immobility.

My recent diagnosis...doesn't define me
I hesitated to do it, but I needed to feel better!  My energy and stamina were slowly robbed, and feeling sluggish had become a normal feeling.  Even after resting for over a year and letting knee injuries heal, I knew I had to seek help beyond the traditional medicine I had been relying on for years. I was barely making it through the day without a long nap.
