Beginner Blending Tips #3

Beginner Blending Tips #3
So far, you have a printable Beginner Blending Journal, a set of blending tips using your nose, and some grounding oil blending tips; now I give you tips for therapeutic blending.

Blending oils for the use of physical or emotional support is one of the key reasons I started using Young Living essential oils over  6 years ago.  I was gifted a pocket version of the reference book I recommend.  You will need to purchase a good essential oil reference guide.  I recommend this one. Anyone who signs up with a Premium Starter Kit with me, gets a spiral bound pocket Essential Oils Desk Reference.  There is too much information collected on hundreds of oils for anybody to know off the top of their heads.

You have head tension and you want to make an eo rollerball for it.  There are lots of oils for this in the reference book, like Peppermint, Aroma Siez & M-Grain by Young Living, Rosemary and even the YL Roller "Deep Relief." Since it only takes a several drops of eo in a carrier, this makes your oils go further and more cost effetive!
So, you put the top two single eos for this recipe in a 10 ml roller with the carrier oil of your choice.  Only make a half recipe to use at first.
So, I'd put 2 drops of Peppermint and Rosemary into a roller with fractionated coconut oil.  Roll it on the troublesome area and wait to see if it works.  If it does, you are golden!  Sometimes you can roll it on a different place, like the back of your neck for head tension, read the recommendations in the reference book.

Here are the oils you can use for dilution, called carrier oils.

I used fractionated coconut oil (FCO) the most, then Grapeseed bc it is cheap in the baking aisle. I order FCO on Amazon, you can refer to my Amazon List for specific things I buy.

Be sure to use your printed Beginner EO Blending Journal from my previous blog post as you create these therapeutic blends.  Make sure you label your roll-on so you know exactly what it's for.

As you practice the art (and science) of blending essential oils, you will love having grown in skill and having a written record of your progress.

Keep on blending!

If you haven't gotten a good therapeutic oil starter kit yet, I can help you.  Check out what I can offer here.

August Promo Vitality Recipes

How exciting is it to get a Young Living Vitality Oil lineup for the August Promos!  I'm super pumped!!
If you don't know how to use these edible essential oils, I've researched and put together these recipe ideas for you via Aroma Flavor, Life Science Publishing & Lavender Life blog.

As you know, Young Living follows the French model of using essential oils (eo) and classifies their Vitality line as dietary, incidated by the white background labels.  Every year, Young Living grows their essential oil repertoire and this means more dietary oils keep coming into play.

I hope you will try one of the ideas from each of the recipes (which I will also post on my social media @shawnsoilytestimonies).  I can't wait to drop Parsley into my next smoothie along with a handful of spinach and fresh fruit!

Dip into it. Mix 1 drop of Parsley Vitality™ with 2 tablespoons tahini. Add to roasted potatoes, dip artichokes into it, or use as a salad dressing. Seconds are a must!

Magic Carpet Ride diffuser blend

Our adventurer had done it! She saved the kingdom, found an everlasting love, and learned that the most powerful magic comes when you’re brave, kind, and selfless. The only thing left needed for her happily ever after is a soaring ride on a magic carpet. Celebrate the power you have to make your own dreams come true by mixing fierce Frankincense with lovely Jasmine and sweet Coriander.

Thyme essential oil

Also found in: Longevity™ Vitality™, CitraGuard™ Deodorant, Insect Repellent
Fun fact: Medieval knights wore sprigs of thyme on their armor for courage. If only they knew about the essential oil!
What sets it apart: While you wouldn’t want to rub thyme leaves all over your face, skin-loving Thyme essential oil is another matter.

How to use Thyme essential oil

  • If your complexion could use a little extra cleansing, we’ve got a clean-slate treatment for you! After washing with your favorite cleanser, dilute 1 drop of Thyme with 4 drops of liquid coconut oil and apply to skin with a cotton ball.
  • Don’t leave home without it—at least if you’re headed for an outdoor adventure! You can dilute Thyme oil with aloe and rub into arms and legs to soothe skin irritations.
  • Does the aroma from last night’s dinner still linger? Diffuse Thyme with other herbal essential oils on this list and let the strong, clean scent get rid of those stale leftovers.

Which Vitality Oil will you use first from your August freebies?

Meet Shawn Constant

Hello, friend!

Here's a snapshot of me:

I'm an extrovert wife to an introvert engineer, mama to a beautiful, talented young woman & fur mom to two small dogs in a small Texas town.

I have been emerging as a healthier, new person after the pandemic and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder on top of my PCOS.  It's been a gut wrenching (pun intended) journey and I'm thankful for my transition into a more holistic lifestyle 6 years ago, since I've been lowering my body's toxic load.

I enjoy crafting, saving pins on Pinterest and DIYing with non-toxic ingredients.  I'm a great cook and am learning to cook Gluten-Free and make some killer smoothies.

My faith is my foundation and am thankful to have had it this past year.

Fun facts:  I'm an outgoing Enneagram 2 with a strong 1 wing.  I'm an ESFJ.  My love languages are acts of service and gifts.  I'm a kinesthetic learning who loves listening to audiobooks.

Feel free to peruse my website and I'd love to connect with you on my social media! I mostly post on Facebook and Instagram. Shawn's Oily Testimonies @shawnsoilytestimonies. I'm getting good at REELS and enjoy styling photos for them!
