Take the Frustration Out of Daily Living
Have you ever found yourself frustrated by the same thing over and over again?
The rushed mornings. The pile that always lands in the same spot. The quick stop at the grocery store that ends up breaking the budget. The constant question of “What’s for dinner?” The thing you keep forgetting. The conversation you keep meaning to have. Or the routine you’ve tried to start approximately 43 times.
Sometimes we assume we need more discipline. I just need to try harder. But sometimes the problem isn’t us. It’s the system.
If something in your everyday life continually creates frustration, instead of pushing harder, pause and get curious about what isn’t working. One frustration in my everyday life is what's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I used to be the gatekeeper of the kitchen, my oasis. When things shifted unexpectedly with my condition, my days in the kitchen went from daily to zero. We shifted to survival mode for years with hopes things would change. So now, my mission is to connect with my kids and give them opportunities to make meals for the family until mama bear is back in the game. That will ditch a whole lot of frustration in of daily living!
JOY-FUELED COACHING TIP
Choose one recurring frustration in your day and ask:
What could I change to make this easier?
Maybe backpacks need a home by the door. Maybe medications need to sit somewhere you’ll actually see them. Maybe dinner decisions happen once a week instead of every afternoon at 4:30.
You don't need a complicated new system. Look for one small change that removes a little friction from something you already do. Trust me, it makes a world of a difference!
SCRIPTURE TO HOLD FOR JOY

JOY FOR THE JOURNEY
If something keeps frustrating you, don't just try harder. Pause long enough to ask what could make it easier.
