You’re Not Missing Out
Have you ever found yourself scrolling…
and suddenly feeling like everyone else is living a life you’re not?
and suddenly feeling like everyone else is living a life you’re not?
Trips. Progress. Energy. Momentum.
And there you are—moving slower, doing less, wondering…Am I missing out? I’ve felt that too. It's hard. But you don't have to stay there.
In this season where my world has gotten smaller…where my capacity has shifted…where what I used to do just isn’t possible right now...I have to pause. And many times that thought creeps in: I’m missing it.
But recently, I felt a gentle shift. What if I’m not missing out…what if I’m being invited into something different? Something quieter and more intentional. I have to pause and let that sink in. Joy is sitting in the space that is aligned with what I actually need right now.
Because here is the truth: reaching for what doesn’t fit this season? That’s where pressure builds. Trying to do all the physical things I used to do -- cooking, baking, meeting up with friends, meeting clients in person, events with my kids, traveling, going on outings with my hubby -- those are not possible. No matter how hard I try, it won't change the fact that I can't do it.
But when I release it the pressure to do it…I feel lighter. I feel more present. I feel more at peace. That is when things shift. I get to be present in all areas of my life if I am willing to do it from a different space, in a different way, and still touch the lives of those I care about.
Maybe this isn’t the fear of missing out. Maybe this is the joy of missing out.
