Stay in Your Lane
Have you ever known what you needed to focus on…
and still found yourself drifting outside of it? I’ve been there.
and still found yourself drifting outside of it? I’ve been there.
In this season, one of the things I felt God clearly asking me to release…was constantly researching my symptoms and condition.
There was a time for that. A season where learning and understanding helped me and my care team move forward.
At the beginning of 2026, I felt a gentle nudge: Just be held.
What exactly does that mean? I spent the first 90 days praying and listening. Then it was clear - Stay in your lane. So in April, I did just that! I stopped researching and released that pressure.
And then...one night…Pain was high. Things felt worse. And my mind started asking why. So I went back to researching. Scrolling. Reading. Looking for answers. And I didn’t like what I found. It stirred fear.
It pulled me out of peace. It left me feeling more unsettled than before.
And in that moment, I knew…I had stepped out of my lane.
So I pulled back. I prayed. I released it—again.
The next day, I sat down to watch an episode from a series on PureFlix. And you’ll never guess the name of the episode:
Stay in your lane. The message...It was as if God was speaking right into my circumstances. Okay, God. I’m listening. Lesson learned.
Sometimes staying in your lane isn’t about restriction…It’s about protection. Protection of your peace. Your focus. Your healing. It's about trusting God in the process, not just the outcomes.
Not everything that could help you is meant for you in this season.
And chasing everything? It doesn’t move you forward. It just pulls you in too many directions. But when you stay in your lane—even when it feels simple…even when it feels repetitive…That’s where progress begins to build.
JOY-FUELED COACHING TIP
Here’s a simple way to stay in your lane:
1. Identify your lane
What has God asked you to focus on in this season?
What has God asked you to focus on in this season?
2. Quiet the noise
What is pulling your attention away—information, comparison, overthinking?

3. Return quickly
When you drift (because you will), gently come back without shame....without shame.
