Why Not Me?
Have you ever looked at someone else’s progress and thought…
Why not me? I’ve had those moments too. I’ve never been a textbook case. I’ve had doctors tell me I don’t fit the bell curve—not even as an outlier. I’m… different.

And I had to learn the hard way that comparing myself to others would never work for me. Their timeline. Their outcomes. Their “normal.”
It didn’t fit my story. And every time I tried to measure myself against it, it interrupted my healing. Comparison brought pain and discouragement. It left me frustrated with progress that was actually significant for me… and yet, it never felt like enough.

And it’s not just healing. Pregnancy. Postpartum. Motherhood.
Homeschooling. Marriage. Work. Parenting. All of it can feel heavier when we’re constantly measuring ourselves against someone else. Comparison steals joy. And it quietly diminishes the progress we are making.

But you don't have to stay there! This is the shift I had to make:
What if my path isn’t supposed to look like theirs?
What if different doesn’t mean behind…it just means mine?
Because God is not writing one story. He’s writing yours.

When I started to release comparison, I could finally see movement again. I could celebrate progress without filtering it through what other people might think. Small, steady, meaningful movement. Not their pace. Not their path. But mine. And the more confidence I had in my own progress, the more my care team began to recognize that my patterns were different too. Small wins stopped feeling insignificant.
They became something we celebrated together.

1. Catch the thought
Notice when your mind says, “Why not me?”
2. Flip it to truth
“My path is different—and that’s okay.”
3. Refocus forward

Because what you focus on grows. And when you shift your attention back to your own path, your brain begins to recognize your progress again—helping you feel more grounded, more capable, and more at peace.
