
Now it was time to address another problem since a test showed results of intestinal microbial overgrowth which meant my yeast bacteria was high. I chose to address my fatigue first by radically changing my diet and supplementing my deficiencies to bring back a gut balance. I knew I wouldn’t be able to learn how to eat a paleo diet with extra food sensitivity restrictions and follow the anti-candida diet and take the candida fighting supplements too. It would be retraining myself to do better in too many areas at once. I knew my limit, and I was right!

In March, if you would have told me I would be more than 30 pounds lighter in August, I would have laughed at you. Every time I tried a new diet, I would lose about 15 pounds and plateau. I had an unhealthy relationship with food I couldn’t kick. I had grown an addiction to food.

Yep, I have Celiac Disease! After reading my previous post, you may be asking, how did I not know I had severe gut issues? Every person with gluten issues has different experiences. Some people vomit or have to run to the bathroom, and there is a long list of general symptoms, but my primary response is fatigue. I became accustomed to a daily nap after lunch. My days were shorter than most people's because I required more sleep. It's been a blessing that I can choose my work hours!

I hesitated to do it, but I needed to feel better! My energy and stamina were slowly robbed, and feeling sluggish had become a normal feeling. Even after resting for over a year and letting knee injuries heal, I knew I had to seek help beyond the traditional medicine I had been relying on for years. I was barely making it through the day without a long nap.
