Finding Joy in Small Moments
As December moves along, what do you notice happening around you?
Pause with me for a moment — who is around you right now? What is something beautiful in your surroundings? Take a breath and thank God for something good.

I don’t know about you, but I’m noticing how much joy lives in the small, quiet moments. My healing season has forced me to slow down and appreciate the sweet joy that sits in the pauses. When my energy is limited, I’m learning that joy doesn’t need to be loud or complicated. Sometimes it’s a warm mug, a gentle laugh, or a few minutes of stillness with God that fills my heart the most.
I’ve also noticed how easy it is to miss these moments when I’m already moving on to the next thing. Life can pass so quickly if we’re not paying attention. Don’t let the joy tucked into your ordinary moments slip by unnoticed.
One Tip: Look for One Small Joy Each Day
Instead of letting your days become a race to check things off a to-do list — or getting lost in swirling thoughts — choose one small thing to notice and savor. It might be a kind word, a timely text, a peaceful breath, or a moment of gratitude. Joy often grows when we slow down enough to see it.
Scripture to Hold Close
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24
Joy for the Journey
